FLAVORS, A TRULY INTERNATIONAL FILM!
Releasing in USA & Canada on July 16

Filmmakers Anupam Mittal, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are proud to announce the release of FLAVORS, an exciting new film that promises to make inroads in Indian English cinema and bring a refreshing change in the genre.

Scheduled to release in North America on July 16, 2004, FLAVORS - produced by dreams2reality Films and MAUJ Entertainment, and distributed in North America by Net Effect Media Inc (NEMI) - has already created a healthy pre-release buzz both among South Asian filmgoers, independent film audiences and within the industry.

Entrepreneur-turned-producer Anupam Mittal, founder and CEO of the popular portal shaadi.com, says, "There is a world market for movies waiting to be tapped. I believe the way to do that is by making good, sensible, yet entertaining, movies. Hopefully, FLAVORS will strike the right chords and find that world market!"

With FLAVORS, directors and New Age filmmaking enthusiasts Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have adopted a unique, non-linear format, weaving multiple intertwining storylines to form an entertaining, fun-filled experience.

Raj & Krishna say, "We are passionate about movies. More important, we are passionate about making innovative movies. FLAVORS is our attempt at making an intelligent film that thoroughly entertains."

FLAVORS takes a fresh, witty look at contemporary Indo-American life. It is a delightful, quirky ensemble comedy with colorful storylines that ingeniously come together, highlighting the humor in everyday life.

The film has the honor of being selected at some of the most prestigious film festivals around the world: Hamptons, Milan, Cairo, Hawaii, Durban, Bombay, Bangkok and the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival.

The film has also been widely acclaimed: Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK were nominated for the Best Emerging Director Award for FLAVORS at the Asian American International Film Festival, New York. Earlier, they made the award-winning short feature, shaadi.com, which was invited to the Commonwealth Film Festival, 2002.

For her performance in FLAVORS, Pooja Kumar, one of the lead actresses, won the SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) Emerging Actor Award, at the St Louis International Film Festival. FLAVORS was adjudged the Best World Premiere Film at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in Florida. It was also the San Jose Opening Night Film at the San Francisco Asian American Film Festival.

FLAVORS has a distinctive soundtrack composed by some very talented musicians around the world: pioneer of Indipop Leslie Lewis (of Colonial Cousins); prolific composer Mahesh Shankar; fusion vocalist Sandhya Sanjana from Amsterdam and Indian classical vocalist Shobha Raju. FLAVORS soundtrack, scheduled to launch on July 2, is a cross-lingual, upbeat and truly eclectic musical experience.

Its accomplished cast includes well-known Bollywood actors Anjan Srivastava and Bharati Achrekar; Reef Karim (host of the new reality series, House of Clues); Pooja Kumar (the new 'face' of the Broadway musical, Bombay Dreams); popular VJ and indie actress, Rishma Malik and international model Jicky Schnee.

The crew includes Frank Reynolds, editor of the Oscar-nominated In The Bedroom and M Night Shyamalan's Praying With Anger; Tom Hammond (sound design), who has worked on projects like Before Sunrise, Waking Life, etc.

NEMI President Kapil Sethi is confident about the success of FLAVORS: "Previous movies in this genre have not had much success. We believe FLAVORS will start a new trend and change the perception towards this genre [Indo-American films]."

Reputed American magazine indieWIRE calls FLAVORS, 'A Truly Unique Comedy'. The influential trade magazine Variety labels it "Snappy. Upbeat." It's time now for the audience verdict on this intelligent, New Age film.
