MS Raju arranged a press meet today to announce the collections of his Sankranthi release Maska. Here are the excerpts -

12.7 crores in 2 weeks
Maska has collected an amazing share of 12.7 crores in two weeks by surprising the trade pundits. Youth and masses got us great openings. Families and ladies are patronizing the film from the second week onwards. The same trend is visible in the third week also. Maska collected 84 lacs in two weeks and crossed Ram’s earlier film Ready collections in East Godavari. Maska created records for first week and second week in a small center like Kandukur. Maska is still going strong in Vizag with six theaters in 3rd week. It will cross my earlier film Varsham. Maska is the biggest hit in the career of Ram. In Nizam it collected a share of 4 crores in two weeks. On 24,25 and 26 of January itself, Maska collected a share of 82 lacs for three days in Nizam. Maska is going strong in all areas.

Investment, prints and publicity cost recovered in three weeks
The investment on the film including print and publicity costs will be recovered by the end of third week. It is exclusive of remake rights, satellite rights and distribution of Maska in other states and overseas. We spent huge amount on Maska and it is recovering all that in a span of three week.

Success tour from 29 January
The entire unit of Maska will be touring for a couple of days from tomorrow to thank the audiences of Andhra Pradesh. We will be touring Guntur, Vijayawada, Eluru and Bhimavaram on 29 January. We will visit Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Tuni, Vizag and Vijayanagaram on 30 January. We will also be holding success meet of the film on 1st February.

Remake rights
Akshay Kumar watched Maska film and immensely liked it. The representatives of Venus came to Hyderabad and watched it in Mallikharjuna theater and loved it. They approached me for Hindi remake rights. We will take a decision about it in a week. Three heroes of Tamil film industry also have shown keen interest in Maska Tamil remake.
