21st September is the 75th birthday of the veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao. He would be felicitated on this eve by Kinnera Arts and Theaters on the evening of 21st September at 6 pm at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Hyderabad.
Bala Krishna Nandamuri will grace this function as chief guest. A book on Singeetam will be released by Dr. C Narayana Reddy. This function will also be attended by K Viswanath, D Rama Naidu, Veturi, Gummadi, Rajendra Prasad, Mallemala, Ravi Kondala Rao, YVS Chowdary and VN Aditya.
About Singeetam Srinivasa Rao:
First Telugu cinema was released in 1931. Singeetam Srinivasa Rao was also born in the same year on 21st of September in Udayagiri, Nellore district. He completed primary education in Gudur and Nellore. He completed his graduation in Chennai. He started his career as teacher.
He joined KV Reddy and assisted in films like Donga Ramudu and Maya Bazaar. Later on he made his debut as director and directed over 60 films in various languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and English. He won awards (Nandi, President’s medal and LV Prasad award) through various films like Samskara (Kannada), Taram Marindi, Pushpaka Vimanam, Apporva Sahodarulu, Aditya 369, Mayuri and Bhairava Dweepam. He also scored music for a few Kannada films featuring Raj Kumar.
