Suhasin Maniratnam, beloved heroine of the yesteryears, today reiterated: "My son wants to be a politician and an economist." Addressing the media at the launch of a TV programme in Hyderabad, Suhasini spoke about the political prospects of her son Nandan, a 16-year-old X1 student in Chennai. She responded so, when the media asked her whether she would join actor Chiranjeevi's political party, if launched. "It is for my son to take to politics," she maintained. "At present, he is too young and it takes time for him to become a parliamentarian. But, the day will come, when political parties and MPs would come to him."
The actress termed Nandan as an ardent follower of Prime Minster Manmohan Singh, and that the boy aspired to study in the London School of Economics. Nandan more than often caught the media attention but mostly prefers to be away from the media blare. He had also written a book – Contours of Leninism.
