Dear Friends,

We, KAD Entertainment USA, a division of Imagilight Inc, are the distributors of the film, Tagore, in all countries outside India. We are extremely concerned about video piracy in the United States as it prevents us from screening Tagore in a number of cities and causes a lot of aggravation to fans and to us.

Low quality video cassettes of the film tend to be released by video pirates in a number of cities before the film is screened in that city. This causes a lot of people to not come to theatres to watch the film. In the past we would not bother to screen the film in such cities as we would not be able to recover even the cost of theatre rentals.

With Tagore we have resolved to take a number of steps that would stop this video piracy.

1. We have compiled a list of all stores in the U.S that sell/rent Telugu video cassettes. We will be personally calling and requesting all the store owners to help us in this effort. This would be over 1000 calls!! Our attorneys will be advising them also about our serious intent to prosecute them if they sell or rent the pirated copy of the Tagore video cassette.

2. We need the help of all Chiranjeevi fans to identify any store that sells or rents Tagore video cassettes before the film is released in their city. This would enable us to aggressively target such stores and take the following actions:

a. Follow up, legally if necessary, with the store to correct the problem

b. Announce the name of the store as a video pirate, to the Telugu community, over the web and through direct mailing

c. Find out the details of the organization which has sold them the pirated video cassette and, while prosecuting such organizations legally, announce their names to the Telugu community

In the past we have received tremendous support in our efforts to rid ourselves of this problem and we are hopeful we will get the same this time around.
