Muhurat of MS Raju's new film 'Varsham' was held at the office of Sumanth Art Productions at 8:30 am on 14th of March 2003. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao gave the first clap. Honorable Central Minister U Krishnam Raju switched on the camera. D Suresh Babu directed the first shot. Prabhas is acting as hero.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishnam Raju said that MS Raju is a very reliable producer who involves more in to each and every department of filmmaking. Krishnam Raju also said that he has taken permission from the Prime Minister of India to act in 2 films. He is playing a vital role in Suresh Productions film with Uday Kiran as hero. He is acting in films after a gap of 3 years.

Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said that he worked for Sumanth Arts banner for 3 films - Manasanta Nuvve, Nee Sneham, Okkadu - in a span of one and half year. He also said that he acted in a role in Sindhuram - for which Sobhan worked as a dialogue writer. Now Sobhan is directing the film for which Paruchuri brothers are providing dialogues. A new scriptwriter Veeru Kotla - a protégé of Paruchuri brothers - has given the story of Varsham. Devi Sri Prasad is providing music. This film is aimed at Sankranthi 2004 release.

Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said that he is currently busy in writing the last chapter of his book - Telugu Cinema Sahithyam - Katha, Kathanam, Silpam. He also remembered his 20 years of association with Krishnam Raju since 'Bobbili Brahmanna' film. He praised the guts and instincts of Prabhas. Talking about the film, he said that 'Varsham aagutundi. Kaani prema varsham aagadu'.

MS Raju said that 'Varsham' is going to be milestone and foundation for the next 20 years of career to the hero Prabhas. He said he is giving this statement because he has such a confidence on the script and technical team. Devi Sri Prasad who made his debut through MS Raju's Devi is working in this banner for the second time. This film would go to floors in the month of June and is expected to release for Sankranthi 2004.
