Zee Telugu tops

January 9, 2007
Hyderabad

New Year eve on Zee Telugu saw 'Devadasu' not only winning his ladylove but also setting millions of Telugu hearts aflutter with romance.

The screening had the channel ratings soar to a new high on the GRP sheets only to stop after scoring a double century at 213.77. The movie, which was one of the major blockbusters of the year 2006, replicated its success on the smaller screen when aired as part of channel's MahaMovie slot for as a curtain raiser to an eventful year ahead on the channel.

Having ushered in to the New Year with a bang, the channel is set to keep viewer's tryst with romance on the small screen with similar fare.

Of the top six movies that were declared runaway success at the Boxoffice last year, Zee Telugu has already acquired the satellite rights of four: 'Devdaasu', 'Bomamarillu', 'Godavari' and 'Andala Ramudu'.

For the viewers, the feast has just begun. The channel has lots more to offer.

SCRUFF
“Scruff” is the first such series with 65 episodes that is being telecasted since from 18th Dec06.

A family of tourists loses their puppy. After being lost for a long night in the forest, the puppy is found by Peter, a young country worker who adopts him and takes to his uncle's farmhouse.

Naming him "Scruff", he lives among the farm animals and a couple of other dogs called Sanda and Tricks, who will all be his new family. The farm dwellers find that they don't really know what to do with Scruff - he is no good at hunting, nor a watchdog - although they soon find out that he does have some very special qualities.

Scruff is a journey of enlightenment, with each new episode bringing a new adventure for him, a little naive and trusting puppy. He wants to learn about the farm through the farm animals and pets, and about the forest with its wild animals - and perhaps the most complicated of all, the ways of humans.
