Music of Ilayaraja’s latest Telugu album Om Shanti featuring five actors (Kajal Agarwal, Navadeep, Nikhil, Bindu Madhavi & Aditi Sharma) was launched at a function organized in Gachibowli on the night of 4 December. Ilayaraja, Kodandarami Reddy, K Raghavendra Rao, Murali Mohan, B Gopal, Yandamuri, Meher Ramesh, Navadeep, Nikhil, Bindu Madhavi, Prakash Dantuluri, Seshu Priyanka Chalasani, Aswini Dutt attended this event. The music of Om Shanti was released by Sony BMG.

Ilayaraja launched the music CD and gave the first unit to K Raghavendra Rao. The four songs of the film are released by K Raghavendra Rao, Murali Mohan, B Gopal and A Kodandarami Reddy.

Ilayaraja has been felicitated richly in this audio function.

Speaking on the occasion Murali Mohan said, “There is nobody on the planet who doesn’t love Ilayaraja music. I acted in Gajalakshmi for which Ilayaraja scored music. He also scored music for my production venture Nirnayam with Nagarjuna and Amala. Ilayaraja keeps giving fresh tunes for his latest films though he worked for innumerable films in the past. I did a small character in Om Shanti movie. I am sure that Seshu Priyanka Chalasani’s Om Shanti will become a blockbuster.”

A Kodandarami Reddy said, “I worked for 14 films with Ilayaraja. All films in our combination were superhits. He leads life in a simple way though he achieved pinnacle of success. He has a small harmonium instrument, a mattress and white and white dress with him in his room.”

B Gopal said, “I did Bobbili Raja and China Rayudu with Ilaya Raja. I feel that it’s a god’s gift for me to work with such a nice music director. He gives equal importance to songs and background music. He gives good music to both big budget movies and small films.”

Ilayaraja said, “I don’t know much about music. I try to do something new for every film. There are four songs in this album. Aswini Dutt, Priyanka and Prakash made me do good music. I wish this movie a good success.”
