RP Patnaik’s debut of full length feature film director took place with the launch of ‘Andamaina Manasulo..’ on the morning of 7 September in Annapurna studios. D Rama Naidu sounded the clapboard, Muralimohan switched on the camera and K Raghavendra Rao directed the first shot. This film sports Rajiv, Sindhu Menon and Archana Gupta in the main leads.

Speaking on the occasion RP Patnaik said, “In the beginning of my career I started a film titled ‘Avunantu Kadantu’ as a director in the same studios. But the project was stalled later. Then I established myself as music director and delivered many musical hits. I always wanted to become a director. My character as a blind man in ‘Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi’ brought me recognition as an actor. I am doing this nice film called Andamaina Manasulo now. This film is a pleasant film without any negative characters and action sequences. There is an university backdrop for this film. I would like to thank producer SV Babu for introducing me as a director. We are introducing Rajiv and Archana Gupta through this film.”

Producer SV Babu said, “It is been my passion to produce a film for a longtime. I produced three films in Kannada. I am entering Telugu film industry with Andamaina Manasulo film. We will shoot the film in Hyderabad, Vizag and Ooty. This film will be released in January 2008.”
