Arjun - new golden chapter in the history of Telugu cinema
Speaking to the press, Superstar Krishna said that he was thrilled when Guna Sekhar narrated the story to him. He said that this film is going to be thrilling experience for the audiences right from the titles card to subham card. This film would remain as the one of the best films by Mahesh Babu in his film. The film has all emotions that satisfies all kinds of audiences. Krishna also said that this film Arjun would create new golden chapter in the annals of Telugu cinema. Krishna said that the art director Thota Tharani is erecting a Madhura Meenakshi set worth 3 crores - a costliest set ever made in entire South India - at Padmalaya gardens in Gandipet. 30% of the film would be shot in this set. The shooting would start from today and would continue till the shooting is completed. Mani Sharma has completed recording 2 songs for this film so far. The technical team of Okkadu is being repeated for this film except for art and lyrics.

Krishna has also said that 70% of Mahesh Babu's Naani is completed and this film would be ready for the release for Dussera 2003.

Arjun for Summer 2004 release
Mahesh Babu said that he listened to the storyline of Arjun when Okkadu shooting was going on. He said that he liked the story and everybody who listen to that story also liked it immensely. This film would have Mudhurai city backdrop. The story starts in Hyderabad and shifts to Madhurai for 10 days. Mahesh Babu said that this film would be ready for the release by summer 2004.

Mahesh gave me confidence
Director Guna Sekhar said that Mahesh is the most apt and suitable actor to play the Arjun character. He clarified that though this film has the backdrop of Madhura Meenakshi temple, it does not have any religious and communal colors attached to it. He said that convincing heroes with single thread stories like Okkadu and Arjun is very difficult. But it was Mahesh Babu who gave him enormous confidence by trusting his instincts and directorial capabilities. He also said that they are not making Arjun to cash the combination craze created due to the stupendous success of Okkadu.

Most expensive film ever made in Telugu
Speaking on this occasion, producer G Ramesh Babu said that this film would have heavy sets and extraordinary technical values. He also said that this film would be the most expensive film ever made in Telugu silver screen.

Side lights:

1. Heroine Keerthy Reddy is playing sister to hero Mahesh Babu in this film. She has also attended the muhurat function. She is the cynosure of all eyes.

2. The fans of Superstar Krishna garlanded Jaya Krishna (son of G Ramesh Babu and grandson of Krishna), who made his acting debut in Nijam film.

3. Mahesh had a lighter vein fun with K Raghavendra Rao and Aswini Dutt (probably something to do with Bobby film).
