Gayatri, a lady-oriented suspense thriller starring Happy Days gal Gayatri, is today launched at Annapoorna Studios amidst a big gathering of Tollywood elite. The film is made on Lakshmi Bhavani Movies Private Limited, produced and directed by realtor D. Sayendra Reddy. It has music by Chakri.

Hotshot director Puri Jagannath sounded the clapboard on Gayatri and male lead Siva in the backdrop of the movie's poster design. K. Raghavendra Rao rendered the first shot direction, while D. Ramanaidu switched on the camera. Akkineni Nageswara Rao administered the ashirvachan to them. Interestingly, heroine Gayatri herself anchored the event. Bangalore Padma, heroine's mom, was seen busily shuttling from corner to corner, wishing the guests and guiding Gayatri in the conduct of her part at the launch. Sekhar Kammula also blessed Gayatri to have a great career. The dignitaries also launched the film logo. When Gayatri sought Darsakendrudu (KRR) to speak a few words on the occasion, he immediately moved away from the place taking long strides, all the way smiling.

Mystery, suspense in Gayatri
Sayendra Reddy, who also provides the story and screenplay, said: "Our banner Lakshmi Bhavani Movies Private Limited is a corporate entity. This is my debut film as director and producer and I hope to be a regular filmmaker hereafter. I am happy to have a very good cast for this film, apart from committed technicians. This is a lady-oriented film. It has copious mystery and suspense elements. It shows the happenings in the life a girl – spread over 24 hours. It is based on real life incidents. We are planning to release the flick in November. Audio will be released in September. There are five songs."

Sentimental value for Annapoorna
Heroine Gayatri said: "Incidentally, my debut film Happy Days was launched in Annapoorna Studios. This is my third film getting launched here. I have a sentimental value for the studios. I thank my producer and director for giving me this opportunity." When asked about her character in the film, she simply said: "I play the role of a girl, a different girl," going by the tag of the film – Andaru ammayiloo okela undaru (Not all girls are the same).

Shiva, who debuts as male lead, said: "The story has the elements of mystery and suspense. That's all I can say. I need the blessings of the audiences."

Cinematographer Surender Reddy said: "The director/producer narrated the subject to me and I felt thrilled. There is going to be a big importance to cinematography in this film."

Crew: Stunts – Ram Lakshman; Art – Narayana Reddy; Editing – Anirudra.
