16 Days is the title for heroine Charmme starrer in Telugu. This bilingual film is titled Laddam in Tamil. Made on Cosmos Entertainment banner, Solomon Prabhu is the director, also contributing story and screenplay. Flanked by Charmi, the film unit today arranged a press meet to announce the title at Annapoorna-7 Acres, Hyderabad. The introduction song of the heroine, playing the lead role Angelina, with a mix of foreign and Mumbai dancers, is under shoot there. The film is set for release next month.

Solomon Prabhu said: “We titled the film as 16 Days. The script is totally loyal to the title. The film is chronicling a 16-day-long period in the life of the lead pair, besides the situations that would surround them. Actually we shot for 80 days, and 20 days are still left with. The running script is earmarked into 16 Days. Info about the Day and Place will be flashed for each of the 16 blocks. I am excited to say we have a lot many highlights in the film. To start with – Charmi’s Angelina character, planned as personification of positive thoughts. Our heroine rides a motorbike, does mimicry (of popular artistes) and importantly makes a passionate romance. Arvind, an assistant director to Maniratnam, makes his debut as hero. Bhaskarabatla’s lyrics, Chinnikrishna’s choreography, Dharan’s music and Sukumar’s cinematography are our technical strengths.”

Sporting a three-plait hairstyle and wearing casual jeans & shirt, heroine Charmme arrived at the venue, late by an hour. She pulled the curtain-string and formally launched the title. “I am eagerly waiting for launch of film’s title in Telugu. In Tamil it is Laddam. As I am partial towards Telugu, I wanted it to suit the script absolutely. My characterization as Angelina is special to me that I didn’t play such a role so far. It mimics Pawan Kalyan, Ravi Teja and Sunil. Further, Angelina is surrounded by positivism from all directions. This trait is also seen all through the making of 16 Days. I always craved for romance on the screen. All of my roles so far were of one-sided romance. Here, I join Aravind, who would rip the screen, though a young man.”

Choreographer Chinnikrishna said: “Twenty five years ago I left for Bollywood, but occasionally composed steps for Chiranjeevi. I recently worked for Jodha Akbar. Now, I am doing a film with Salman Khan and another with Sharukh Khan. In 16 Days, I am doing the Introduction song with American dancers, who recently worked as cheer girls in the IPL.”
