From Folk Roots to Cinematic Legends: TGFA 2025 Sets a New Benchmark for Regional Excellence and Technician Recognition in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, March 20, 2026: Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, the city of Hyderabad witnessed a landmark celebration of artistic excellence as the second edition of the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards (TGFA) 2025 took place on March 19, 2026, at the HITEX Convention Centre. The celebration brought together legendary icons of Indian cinema and the state's visionary leaders to celebrate the indomitable spirit of Telugu Excellence.
As a profound tribute to cinema, culture, and the people’s voice, the TGFA serves as the state’s highest cinematic honour. The ceremony was dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements across Cinema, Theatre, and Television, with a specific focus on promoting regional storytelling and encouraging the technicians who are the true backbone of the industry.
Honouring the Legends
The 2025 edition witnessed the presentation of the prestigious Legendary Honour Awards, recognizing lifetime contributions to Indian cinema:
• NTR National Award: Megastar Chiranjeevi
• Paidi Jairaj Award: Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan
• ANR Award: Jayasudha
• BN Reddy Award: Singeetam Srinivasa Rao
• C Narayana Reddy Award: Suddala Ashok Teja
The 2025 edition reached its emotional crescendo with the presentation of the Special Awards, celebrating the lifetime contributions of titans who have shaped the global identity of Indian Cinema:

TGFA 2025: Key Winners & Highlights
The independent jury, under the Telangana Film Development Corporation, recognized a diverse range of talent for films certified in 2025. Leading the list of winners who "won big" this year are:
• Best Actor: Naga Chaitanya (Thandel)
• Best Actress: Rashmika Mandanna (The Girlfriend)
• Best Film: Raju Weds Rambai
• Second Best Film: Dhandoraa
• Best Director: Sailu (Raju Weds Rambai)
• Special Jury Awards: Chaitu Jonnalagadda and Ananthika
The evening also celebrated technical brilliance, awarding excellence in Cinematography (Karthik Ghattamaneni), Editing (Sreekar Prasad), and Art Direction (Thota Tharani).
The ceremony saw a historic gathering of Indian cinema’s most formidable figures, including King Nagarjuna Akkineni, The Movie Mogul Daggubati Suresh Babu, People’s Queen Khushbu Sundar, The Timeless Madhuri Dixit Nene, and The Effortlessly Elegant Sobhita Dhulipala. The event was further brightened by Indian Cinema’s most adorable power couple, Riteish & Genelia Deshmukh, and The Stunning Esha Gupta.
Leading the celebration, titans of the industry took centre stage as the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2025 red carpet dazzled with the presence of a historic gathering of Indian cinema’s most formidable figures Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, King Nagarjuna Akkineni, The Charming Star Naga Chaitanya, national crush of India Rashmika Mandanna, People’s Queen Khushbu Sundar, Sahaja Nati Jayasudha, The Timeless Madhuri Dixit Nene, The effortlessly elegant Sobhita Dhulipala, Indian Cinema’s Most Adorable Power Couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh, The stunning Esha Gupta alongside several luminaries from the national and regional film fraternity, government dignitaries and key partners.
The energy of the night was steered by the industry’s most charismatic voices. Nikhil Vijayendra and Doulath Sulthana hosted the Red Carpet, while the ‘Queen of Small Screen’ Suma Kanakala and ‘King of Anchors’ Pradeep Machiraju led the main awards with legendary wit.
The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2025 stage came alive with a curated blend of glamour and heritage:
• Tribute Act: A soulful performance by the mesmerising Nidhhi Agerwal.
• Global Sensation: Gravity-defying choreography by AGT champions V Unbeatable.
• Cultural Soul: A profound act by the Vanaja Uday Dance Group and a high-energy Nama Dance Performance.
• Musical Titans: Power-packed live sets by the ‘Melody Queen’ Shreya Ghoshal, the ‘Rockstar’ DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), and ‘Folk Sensation’ Mangli.
The TGFA 2025 reinforced the state’s unwavering commitment to making Telangana a premier global hub for creative arts, blending contemporary cinematic flair with the soulful legacy of Telugu theatre and folk arts.
