On Sunday, King Nagarjuna unveiled the trailer of 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu, which promises to be a heartwarming drama about a kid struggling in his academics.
The setting is Tirupati, where a middle-class Brahmin family (played by Nivetha Thomas and Vishwadev Rachakonda) reside. Spanning two minutes and 22 seconds, the trailer begins with cute moments between the couple before it shifts attention to their boy who is poor in mathematics. Addressed as Zero, he is constantly reprimanded by his teachers and is often relegated to the back bench and made to stand. He feels that the mathematics taught at school is completely wrong. His maths teacher (Priyadarshi) is of the opinion that the subject separates the clever from the dim. The kid’s dad soon starts to worry about his education but his wife has none of it. She believes her son has a bright future and motivates him to conquer zero. What next?
With identifiable characters and a premise which can resonate with most parents, the trailer tugs at your heartstrings and promises an endearing little drama with a universal message. Nivetha and Vishwadev as parents are on point while Priyadarshi is that strict teacher who most students must’ve encountered in their lives. Gautami and Bhagyaraj seem to have landed significant supporting parts, while Vivek Sagar’s background score adds depth to the proceedings.
Presented by Rana and produced by Srujan Yarabolu and Siddharth Rallapalli, 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu, which is slotted for a release on September 6, marks the directorial debut of Nanda Kishore Emani.
