Fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna can rejoice as the teaser of his anticipated Akhanda 2- Thaandavam was released ahead of his birthday on Tuesday and to describe it as mind-blowing would be an understatement.
The teaser’s action, spanning close to a minute, opens with a snow-clad dangerous territory where we get to see Balayya as Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Ghora walking like a ferocious lion with his trademark trishul in tow. One look at his close-up shot and its goosebumps guaranteed. As he takes on a multitude of men, a powerful dialogue from him evoking lord Shiva sets the tone for sign of things to come. Aghora is at it again – to save the lives of innocents from a seemingly powerful and evil villain (played by Aadi Pinisetty). The only difference this time around is that it is Aghora 2.0. As the teaser comes to an end, we see a walking Aghora rotating his trishul in such a way that goons’ throats are slit one by one. This one is purely aimed at the masses and we betcha they don’t have any complaints. Pure adrenaline-rush.
In conclusion, the teaser promises high-octane action and one-liners that are trademark of Balayya and Boyapati combo. The score by Thaman is likely to become one of the film’s emotional anchors with some arresting visuals for company but at the heart of it all, it’s the pious and fierce Shiv-bhakt Balayya who truly steals the spotlight. In a bearded avatar, he gets our attention from his first shot and in Boyapati’s vision; we can only imagine where he’ll take the character. He’s coming to conquer the box office again.
Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under their 14 Reels Plus, with Balayya’s daughter M Tejaswini serving as the presenter, Akhanda 2- Thaandavam will blaze into cinemas on September 25 later this year.
