Announced on icon star Allu Arjun’s birthday last month, AA22xA6, which brings together the magical combination of Allu Arjun and Atlee together, is a tent-pole that whole India is awaiting. With the announcement video itself, the makers gave a peek into the ambitious world of the film they are looking at.
While anticipation surrounding it is at fever pitch, on Thursday in Mumbai the icon star spoke about the film. “I really liked the idea he (Atlee) told me; I liked his aspirations. I felt we were like-minded at many levels. And we hope to bring a very new visual spectacle to Indian cinema,” the actor said. He was speaking at WAVES meet, which is the inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit hosted by Government of India, which aims to spotlight the media and entertainment industry of the country.
The actor added, “It will be a very international presentation film with total Indian sensibilities.”
The pre-production on this film has been going on for the past three months, with the makers looking to kick off principal photography this monsoon. Set in a parallel universe with Allu Arjun playing a dual role for the first time in his career, most of the film will be shot in Mumbai. The likes of Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor are in the running to be paired opposite Arjun in the film, a Sun Pictures production.
