Charming Star Sharwa is coming up with a first-of-its-kind intense period action drama Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi. Mounted on an ambitious scale, the film is being produced by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts, with Lakshmi Radhamohan presenting the film. A major portion of the shoot has already been completed, while the remaining filming is progressing simultaneously with the post-production work. The makers began the promotional activities by releasing the film’s teaser.

The teaser opens with a folk-style voiceover introducing the village of Boggula Gutta. Anupama Parameswaran’s character reveals that the Palagallu have taken away Kammari Ganga and warns of serious consequences if anything happens to him. The teaser further establishes that a devotional ritual must be performed to save the village. Sharwa then makes a rugged and striking entry as Ganga, a deeply rooted rustic labourer, delivering intense warnings that he will not remain silent. He boldly declares that he will wash the nine steps with his sword and adorn them with the blood of his enemies.

Beyond introducing the protagonist and his love interest, the teaser opens the doors to a raw, intense, fiercely rooted, and raging world. Sampath Nandi brings remarkable authenticity to the story, which is set in a fictional village on the Telangana-Maharashtra border in the early 1960s. The period setting feels organic, while the narrative strike a compelling balance between high-voltage action and rustic drama.

Sharwa’s complete transformation for the extremely rooted role deserves special appreciation. His rugged appearance, fiery diction, commanding body language and intense screen presence make Ganga a character to watch out for. The final sequence, in particular, where he delivers a serious and powerful warning, gives a glimpse of the explosive intensity the character is likely to unleash in the film. Anupama Parameswaran also gets a strikingly rustic makeover, and her character has considerable importance in the story. Dimple Hayathi is the other female lead, while several established actors are part of the film in key roles.

Cinematographer Kishor Kumar captures the rustic landscapes, period setting and underlying intensity with impressive authenticity. Bheems Ceciroleo’s earthy score further elevates the rooted atmosphere and adds considerable power to the teaser. The production values of Sri Sathya Sai Arts are grand and uncompromised, reflecting the scale of the ambitious period drama.

The makers will announce the theatrical release date once the remaining shoot and post-production works reach the desired stage of completion. Nevertheless, the teaser has already succeeded in creating strong curiosity and has set the expectations soaring for this intense period action drama.
