King Of Entertainment Sree Vishnu, known for his versatility and knack for choosing unique scripts, continues to explore different genres, all while ensuring his films are laced with ample humour. His latest project is no exception. Titled Comrade Kalyan, this fun-filled action entertainer is presented by Kona Venkat and directed by Janakiram Marella. Venkata Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati are producing the film under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner.
The makers unveiled the title through an intriguing promo that sets the tone for the film’s unique narrative. Set in 1992 in the village of Madugula, located on the Andhra-Odisha border in Visakhapatnam. The promo opens with a radio announcement declaring the rising threat of Naxalites to the government. The police and Greyhound forces are on a mission to hunt a notorious Naxalite leader named Comrade Kalyan. In a clever twist, a wanted poster announcing a 5 lakh reward for Comrade Kalyan is shown being pasted, by none other than the man himself. The promo culminates with the reveal of Sree Vishnu as Comrade Kalyan.
Though the premise suggests a serious narrative, the story is infused with humour. Comrade Kalyan promises to be a laugh riot, blending unexpected romance with a backdrop of police crackdowns and political tension. With action-packed sequences, quirky characters, and comic relief, the film is shaping up to be a refreshing take on the action-comedy genre.
Sree Vishnu will be seen in dual avatars, with his look as Comrade Kalyan standing out as both impactful and intriguing. Mahima Nambiar plays the female lead, while Radhika Sarathkumar, Shine Tom Chacko, and Upendra Limaye play key roles.
The film’s visuals are captured by Sai Sriram, while Vijay Bulganin’s riveting score enhances the film’s emotional and dramatic beats. Chota K Prasad is handling the editing duties. With filming already halfway through, the team is moving full steam ahead.
