Promotions for Coolie have begun, and director Lokesh Kanagaraj spoke to the national media, revealing several interesting details about the film. He said that, for him, making a short film or a big-budget movie is the same, as he gives equal effort to both. Lokesh shared that both he and music director Anirudh grew up admiring legends like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, which is why they give their all when working on their films. Regarding songs, he completely trusts Anirudh’s judgment. Lokesh revealed that both he and Anirudh are big fans of Monica Bellucci, and after finalizing the song, they named Pooja Hegde’s character “Monica” in Coolie.

Calling Rajinikanth’s 50-year-long cinematic journey phenomenal, Lokesh said that since Rajini’s debut film released in August, Coolie is also set for an August release. Rajinikanth is someone who values youth perspectives, and Lokesh said he learned a lot from him. At times, there were 700 to 1,000 people working on the Coolie set daily. Before Coolie, Lokesh had pitched a fantasy-based story to Rajinikanth, which he immediately approved. However, as it would have taken nearly 18 months to set up, Lokesh did not want to waste Rajini’s time.

After watching the final cut, Rajinikanth hugged Lokesh and said it reminded him of Dalapathi. Lokesh called that moment a lifetime achievement, admitting he had his first peaceful sleep in months that day. He revealed that Coolie’s first half is emotional, while the second half delivers the kind of high-level action fans expect from Rajinikanth. The trailer, releasing on August 2, will give a clearer picture of the film.

Lokesh said that convincing Rajinikanth for this role was easier than getting Nagarjuna to agree to play the antagonist. In his 40-year career, Nagarjuna has never played a negative role, and he told Lokesh that if he missed this chance, he would never get another role like it.

Reflecting on the industry’s obsession with numbers, Lokesh said, “In our childhood, we only talked about whether a movie ran for 50, 100, or 150 days. Now it’s all about numbers and collections. For me, what matters is whether people enjoyed the film, not box office figures.” After release day, he plans to watch three shows, then disconnect from box-office numbers and reviews for a few days to spend time with his school friends.

His all-time favorite movies include Mob Land, Virumaandi (Pothuraju in Telugu), Satya, Dalapathi, and Nayakudu.

Finally, Lokesh stated: “I can’t promise that Coolie will earn ₹1000 crore, but I promise to give full value to the person who spends ₹150 on a ticket.”

డబ్బింగ్ పనులు పూర్తి అయిన తరువాత కూలీ సినిమా చూసి తనను హగ్ చేసుకొని, 'దళపతి' సినిమా గుర్తొచ్చిందని రజినీకాంత్ గారనడమే తనకు లైఫ్ టైం అచీవ్ మెంట్ అని చెప్పుకొచ్చారు. అలా చెప్పడంతో చాలా నెలల తరువాత ఆరోజు ప్రశాంతంగా నిద్రపట్టిందన్నారు. కూలీ ఫస్టాఫ్ అంతా ఎమోషనల్ గా నడుస్తుందని, సెకండాఫ్ కు వచ్చేసారి రజినీ గారి లెవెల్ యాక్షన్ అందుకుంటుందన్నారు. ఆగస్ట్ 2 న 'కూలీ' ట్రైలర్ రిలీజ్ తోనే ఈ సినిమా ఏంటో అన్నది వివరంగా చెప్పగలమన్నారు. రజినీకాంత్ గారిని ఈ పాత్రకు ఎలా ఒప్పించావని నాగార్జున గారు తనను ఎదిగారన్నారు. వాస్తవానికి రజినీ గారి పాత్ర కంటే గారి నెగటివ్ రోల్ కు నాగార్జున గారిని ఒప్పించడమే కష్టమైందన్నారు. తన నలభై ఏళ్ల సినీ కెరీర్ లో నాగార్జున గారు నెగటివ్ రోల్ ఎప్పుడూ చేయలేదని, 'కూలీ' లో ఈ పాత్ర మిస్ అయితే మరెప్పుడూ ఇలాంటి పాత్ర చేయలేనని నాగార్జున గారు తనతో చెప్పారన్నారు. తమ చిన్నతనంలో యాభై రోజులు ఆడిందా, వంద రోజులాడిందా, నూట యాభై రోజులాడిందా లాంటివి మాత్రమే మాట్లాడుకునేవాళ్లమని కానీ ఇప్పుడంతా నంబర్ల వెనుక తిరుగుతున్నామన్నారు. తన దృష్టిలో సినిమాను చూసి సంతోషించామా లేదా అన్నదే ముఖ్యమని, ఇలా కలెక్షన్ల పేరుతో నంబర్ల వెనుక పరుగుపెట్టడం సరైనది కాదన్నారు. సినిమా రిలీజ్ రోజు మూడు షోలు చూసేసి, ఆ తరువాత మూడు నాలుగు రోజులూ ఈ బాక్సాఫీస్ నంబర్లకు, రివ్యూలకు దూరంగా తన స్కూల్ ఫ్రెండ్స్ తో బయటకు వెళ్ళిపోతానన్నారు. మాబ్ ల్యాండ్, విరుమాండి (తెలుగులో పోతురాజు), సత్య, దళపతి మరియు నాయకుడు సినిమాలే తన ఆల్ టైం ఫేవరైట్ సినిమాలన్నారు.
