After a long time, Thammudu is arriving with solid content, said producer Dil Raju. He emphasized that the film wasn’t made just for Nithiin, but that every decision was driven by the story. “In the current scenario, we wouldn’t have spent Rs. 75 crores on such a big film just for Nithiin alone. We made this investment purely based on the strength of the story,” he said.
He revealed that around Rs. 30 crores went into the making alone, and that the film includes thrilling action episodes. Dil Raju shared that he was highly impressed with director Venu Sriram’s concept on how to pull audiences to theatres.
The shoot lasted 150 days, with nearly 80% of it done in forest locations, which posed many challenges. Still, the director didn’t compromise anywhere, he noted. Venu Sriram made the film exactly the way he envisioned, and the second half is packed with 'wow' moments, especially the final 50 minutes, which Raju promised will give the audience a solid kick.
Interestingly, the entire story unfolds in a single night. Dil Raju predicted that in terms of scale and execution, this film will give the director more acclaim than his earlier films like MCA and Vakeel Saab. With a mix of drama, thrill, and emotion, the jungle backdrop adds a unique flavor to the story.
He also stressed that the director was meticulous during production—“Had we not taken such care, the budget would’ve shot up to Rs. 100 crores,” he said.
As for the trailer, Dil Raju stated clearly that he didn't spend money to buy views on Youtube. “If even 20% of those who watched the trailer come to the theatres, Thammudu will be a hit at the box office,” he concluded.
