The teaser of Vishwak Sen-starrer Gangs of Godavari was dropped at an event in Hyderabad on Saturday and it is mind-blowing, promising a towering performance from Vishwak.
The one-minute-17-second clip opens with a voiceover of Sai Kumar who states: “Okkasari Lankalo kathi kattarante, aa manishini sampakunda vadalaru (Once they begrudge someone in Lanka, they don’t stop until they kill him.” We then see a motley of men approaching Vishwak’s residence; he is alone in his house. In fact, the entire village has become one in Vishwak’s case (we don’t what’s the issue here). We are later introduced to Vishwak who says, “Ammoru poneyindra, ee rathriki okkokidiki sivaleththi poddhi anthe (Mother Goddess has possessed me. Tonight it will be a case of butchering)”. He later takes on the men and neutralizes them with his fighting skills. The teaser ends with Vishwak claiming that he doesn’t know whether he is a good man or a bad man but he doesn’t want to associate with the stigma of being a good man.
Bursting with action, anger, emotion and retribution, the teaser promises a dark and gritty action political drama with jaw-dropping action scenes which will give you an adrenaline rush. The cinematography is top-notch while the background score is stirring. Vishwak seems to have transformed completely for the role, nailing the Godavari accent to perfection from his limited dialogues in the teaser.
Also starring Anjali, Neha Shetty, Nasser, Sai Kumar and Goparaju Ramana, the film, a joint production venture between Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas Banner, will hit the screens on May 17th. It’s a Yuvan Shankar Raja musical.
