Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s much-awaited film Irumudi is steadily building anticipation ahead of its theatrical release on August 21st. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has already generated considerable interest with its glimpse and songs, offering audiences a peek into its world and characters. The makers have now taken the excitement a notch higher with the theatrical trailer, which was unveiled today in Telugu and Tamil languages.
For the first time, the trailer gives a clear picture of the film’s core storyline. Ravi Teja plays a middle-class family man who takes great care of his wife and daughter. His affection, however, extends beyond his own family, as he treats every girl in his village like his own daughter. When something happens to any of them, his protective instinct turns into uncontrollable aggression.
His biggest weakness is his addiction to alcohol. At the same time, he wears the Ayyappa mala every year, transforming into a completely different and peaceful person during that period. When a series of girls are mysteriously killed in the village, the central question is whether he can put an end to the violence.
Shiva Nirvana blended family emotions, action, suspense and thriller elements into an unusual family entertainer. The combination itself promises a distinctive experience. A particularly striking moment in the trailer is when Ravi Teja’s daughter admits that even she is scared of seeing her father’s aggression, underlining the emotional complexity of the protagonist and showcasing Shiva Nirvana’s ability to create powerful family moments.
Ravi Teja owns the character in every frame. He looks perfectly suited to the role of a caring family man who can turn intensely aggressive when confronted with injustice. His alcohol addiction adds another layer to the character, while the contrast between his aggressive nature and the calmness he embraces after wearing the Ayyappa mala makes the character even more intriguing.
Priya Bhavani Shankar is impressive as Ravi Teja’s wife, who yearns for a peaceful family life, while Baby Nakshatra brings warmth and emotion to the father-daughter relationship. Sai Kumar makes an impact as the Guru Swamy, and Swasika has a substantial role with negative shades.
Mythri Movie Makers mounted the film on a right budget without compromising on production values. Cinematographer Vishnu Sarma captures the rustic setting with authenticity, giving the film a grounded visual texture. GV Prakash Kumar’s powerful background score elevates the intensity of the trailer and adds considerable weight to the emotional and action-packed moments. The brief inclusion of the highly anticipated Mallepula Pallaki song towards the end delivers goosebumps. The technical team also includes production designer Sahi Suresh and editor Prawin Pudi.
The theatrical trailer is a well-cut package that effectively presents the film’s family emotions, action, suspense, and thriller elements in the right proportions.
