The teaser of Gali Kireeti-fronted Junior was dropped by the makers on Friday and it promises a colourful campus entertainer interspersed with humour, romance and a bit of action.
Spanning one minute and 41 seconds, the teaser opens with a character played by Harsha Chemudu being selected for a job, much to his joy. But wait, there’s a catch. He is picked to be friends with a character played by Junior (Kireeti). A couple of others too receive similar offer letters. As Harsha and Co. want to know who sent them the letter, arrives Junior stylishly breaking open a door. For Junior, life means friends and college means making memories. He enjoys watching movies in cinema halls and playing soccer at times. A character played by Sree Leela, who seems to be a yoga instructor, sweeps him off his feet and its love at first sight for him. But she doesn’t have the time for romance in her life. She speaks about ambitions and goals and on cue, Junior decides to make her as his goal. The teaser concludes with Junior saying that if someone wants to reach heights, there is that someone who is ready to pull him down. Towards the end we get to see Genelia as a corporate woman who means business. It’s likely that the conflict between Junior and Genelia makes the film.
Summing up, the teaser promises a vibrant and engaging film, with emphasis on lightheartedness, friendship, humour, love and a touch of action and drama. Kireeti makes a confident debut and he is at ease with his acting, dancing and action skills, while Sree Leela looks gorgeous as a girl-next-door. Devi Sri Prasad’s score is peppy in tune with the film’s modern themes while the production values are lavish. Cinematographer Senthil Kumar ensures that the film looks grand and colourful.
Also featuring V Ravi Chandran, Rao Ramesh, Sudharani, Achyut Rao and Satya, Junior, a production venture of Rajani Korrapati under Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, sails into cinemas on July 18th. The film is written and directed by Radha Krishna.
The #Junior teaser reveals it as a youthful entertainer set against a college backdrop. Kireeti Reddy marks his debut as a hero, with Sreeleela playing the female lead. A pleasant surprise is Genelia’s comeback to Telugu cinema, looking graceful and suave. Viva Harsha adds charm… pic.twitter.com/Pzle5bo0gZ
