The trailer of Akkineni Nagarjuna and Dhanush-starrer Kuberaa is out and it's crystal clear that filmmaker Sekhar Kammula has delved into deeper waters with the film, which promises to be a politically charged thriller that revolves around money and power.

Spanning more than a couple of minutes, the trailer introduces Dhanush as Deva who is clueless about the number of zeros in a crore. A political leader is seen next, equating the underworld dons to powerful forces who can snatch away the chairs of ministers, while a corporate man played by Jim Sarbh is desperately after something, as if his whole existence depends on it. King Nagarjuna is introduced soon after as Deepak; he believes only power and money works in India, not morals and justice. “This is history,” he adds. The trailer shifts attention back to Deva, a beggar on the streets of Mumbai, and he follows Sameera (Rashmika Mandanna) “because he knows no one other than her”. Things take a turn when Deva goes missing and a frantic search is on by Deepak and powerful forces in the world of Maharashtra politics and corporate world. He is a beggar who now wields the power to collapse a government. Can it get bigger than this? We doubt it! The rest of the trailer takes an emotional turn as certain decisions made by the Deva, Deepak and Sameera take an emotional toll on them. When Sameera, towards the closing stages of the clip, says the world belongs to the rich, Deva replies, saying the world doesn’t belong to just them and that he has his own world as well. “In my world, there is no money and politics. I will settle it there.” What is he alluding to? Well, we have to wait for five more days to know the answer.

Summing up, the trailer promises a gripping and emotionally charged thriller, hinting at a narrative filled with high stakes, tension, heartfelt moments and the unraveling of secrets that will take us by shock. Kammula, venturing into the space of crime and action, succeeds in transporting viewers into his world filled with compelling and morally flawed characters, while Devi Sri Prasad’s score enhances the dramatic tension. Dhanush speaks a gamut of emotions with his eyes and it looks like he dubbed for his own part, which conjures up magic just like that. Nag in a supporting turn is intense, while Rashmika Mandanna is sincere and earnest.

Kuberaa is jointly produced by Suniel Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Kammula under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd banner.
