On Wednesday, superstar Mahesh Babu launched the trailer of Sudheer Babu’s upcoming film, Maama Mascheendra. Happy to launch the trailer of #MaamaMascheendra... Looks like a blast!! All the best to @isudheerbabu and team! In Cinemas Oct 6th!,” he wrote after unveiling the trailer.
Playing out over two minutes and 52 seconds, the trailer begins with a voiceover telling a young Parasuram that he is the only truth in the world. “Don’t share your feelings with anyone. If you feel like though, pen a diary. Don’t think of it as an old concept. It will work out wonderfully well. If it has secrets that no one should read, write it still, but burn it down later,” the voiceover says. The trailer then cuts to a hep DJ (Sudheer Babu) who sweeps off a young girl (Mirnalini Ravi) off her feet. The DJ has an obese twin Durga (Sudheer Babu) who is in love with a character (played by Eesha Rebba). The girls are the daughter of Parasuram (Sudheer Babu) who is now a dreaded gangster and shares a horrific past which only his close ones know. The twins are the sons of his sister and share his features. For some reasons, Parasuram wants to eliminate the twins but later understands that they weren’t after his daughters; instead the daughters loved them. He is in a dilemma whether they are truly in love with his daughters or want to take revenge against him. Nonetheless, he is ready for the battle. “If you are Maaya Mascheendra, I’m your Maama Mascheendra,” he thunders, signing off.
The trailer is cut fantastically well and reveals the story, preparing the audience what to expect from the film. Never afraid to break stereotypes, Sudheer Babu shows variations in three roles from looks to dialogue modulation and it’s obvious that he’s put in a ton of effort. Chaitan Bharadwaj’s background score complements the different moods of the trailer well.
Written and directed by actor-filmmaker Harshavardhan and produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, Mama Mascheendra also features Abhinaya, Ali Reza, Harshavardhan, Ajay, Hari Teja and Rajeev Kanakala in supporting roles.
