The character ‘Mowgli’ is one that’s deeply familiar to those born in the 80s and 90s. Mowgli, from The Jungle Book, was a sensation back in the day. When we hear the name ‘Mowgli,’ what immediately comes to mind is a little boy’s wild adventures alongside jungle animals. Even today, the character continues to hold strong appeal among audiences. Now, a film titled Mowgli 2025 is on the way, and its first glimpse was unveiled today.
Set against a forest backdrop, the glimpse is crafted in a visually appealing manner. The voice-over by actor Nani adds an extra layer of charm to the promo.
Mowgli 2025 tells the story of a young man, not yet 25, who lives in the forest. When a city girl enters his life and their bond blossoms into a love story, things take a dramatic turn. The film explores who tries to interfere in their golden romance, and how this young man reacts—how he strikes back and fights back.
Nani’s voice-over introduces the premise: “Let me tell you a small love story… It’s 2025, a time when technology hasn’t fully evolved. If you go into the forest, even basic mobile signals are out of reach.” Through this, it’s evident that Mowgli 2025 is all set to showcase the hero’s daring efforts to protect his love.
“What really happened? What battles did the hero fight for his heroine, and with whom?” - These are the questions the audience will have to wait until the film’s release to get answered.
Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Sagar Madolkar play the lead pair in the film. Roshan is the son of actor Rajeev Kanakala and renowned anchor Suma Kanakala. Though Roshan made his debut as a hero with Bubble Gum, the film didn’t meet box office expectations.
The film is directed by Sandeep Raj, who shot to fame with Color Photo, a film that won the National Award for Best Feature Film in 2022, along with several other accolades.
The film also features the unique performer Bandi Saroj Kumar in a key role. Years ago, he made waves with his directorial and acting film Maangalyam. The glimpse itself hints at the power of his role in this film—especially with the striking line: “Hey Mowgli… Sher Khan is coming! Be ready!”
The film’s music is composed by Kaala Bhairava, son of legendary composer M.M. Keeravani. Cinematography is by Rama Maruthi. The film is jointly produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.
