GUDIVADA: Superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna on Wednesday donated Rs. 2 crore to ANR College to fund scholarships for students, marking the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the institution.
As the chief guest, Nagarjuna inaugurated the college’s new building and paid homage to his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), who had donated Rs. 1 lakh to the college back in 1959.
"Although my father was not formally educated, he had a great love for education. Even though he didn't receive an education himself, he worked to provide a bright future for thousands of people. I am announcing Rs. 2 crore for scholarships for the students," said actor Nagarjuna.
The event was attended by prominent personalities, including Naga Susheela, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu, and was marked by enthusiasm as Nagarjuna’s contribution highlighted the college’s commitment to education and social welfare. Established in 1950, the college welcomed this generous donation with appreciation.
