Majili girl Divyansha Kaushik and Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth are playing the female lead roles in Sudheer Varma’s next with Nikhil Siddharth, idlebrain has learnt from multiple sources. The film in question is a crime comedy from the stables of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra of BVSN Prasad, with his son Bapineedu executing it.
A source close to the development tells idlebrain.com, “The trio of Sudheer, Nikhil and Bapineedu initially wanted to do a film. It was around the same time writer Srikanth Vissa had just convinced Sudheer to helm Ravanasura with Ravi Teja. So when the director asked Srikanth whether he had a script for Nikhil, he replied in the affirmative. In fact, Sudheer was looking at a crime comedy set on a bigger span than that of his maiden seminal film Swamy Ra Ra and as luck would have it, some days later, Srikanth narrates a story on similar lines. Sudheer loved it and later sent it to Bapi and Nikhil who too endorsed it. They decided to set it in London. They even shot 90 percent of the film in the Queen’s City towards the end of last year, continuing SVCC’s association with London after Nannaku Prematho, Tholi Prema and Mr Majnu. Both the leading ladies have equal parts in the narrative.”
The source adds the makers didn’t publicize the film because Nikhil was already doing 18 Pages and Karthikeya 2 back then and a spy thriller with editor Gary too was just announced. “They didn’t want confusion to arise in the minds of the people with three films of the actor on sets, so they decided to shoot without any announcements. They are looking to release it mostly after Karthikeya 2 opens in cinemas. John Vijay (Lucifer fame), Ajay and Viva Harsha are playing supporting roles in the film,” concludes the source.
Meanwhile, Divyansha is presently awaiting the release of Ravi Teja-starrer Ramarao on Duty. She also has a project with Sundeep Kishan, Michael, in her kitty. On the other hand, Rukmini’s next with Rakshit Shetty, Sapta Saagaradaache Ello, storms into cinema halls this May.
