The film OG is one that fans of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, along with cinema lovers across the world, are eagerly waiting for. Produced on a grand scale under the banner of DVV Entertainment by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari, the film is directed by Sujeeth. In OG, Pawan Kalyan will be seen in a powerful role, and Priyanka Arul Mohan plays the lead actress. With its worldwide release scheduled for September 25, expectations are sky-high. The recently released glimpse and songs have already captivated audiences, and the trailer is expected soon. As the release date draws near, the team has stepped up promotional activities. In this context, Priyanka Arul Mohan spoke to the media and shared several interesting details about the film.

Tell us about your journey with Pawan Kalyan in OG.
My journey with OG has been for almost two and a half years. I’ll never forget this experience. I consider it a privilege to have acted alongside Pawan Kalyan. Playing the role of Kanmani in this film feels even more fortunate. Out of all the roles I’ve done so far, Kanmani is one of my favorites. This character will always have a special place in my heart. Working with Pawan Kalyan is a blessing every day. I’ve learned so much from him. He’s a gentleman and treats everyone equally. On and off screen, he’s a real hero.

How did you come on board this project?
After the film was announced, the director narrated the story to me. I loved it instantly and agreed to be a part of it. I also loved the role of Kanmani. On top of that, it’s a Pawan Kalyan film, directed by Sujeeth, and produced by DVV Entertainment. What more could I ask for to say yes to this film?

What kind of role is Kanmani?
The story is set in the 1980s–1990s. The way the character is shaped and the styling are all in line with that period. Kanmani is an innocent, sweet girl. She’s deeply in love with Gambheera and plays a key role in turning his life around.

Did you expect the kind of response the song ‘Suvvi Suvvi’ is getting?
This is my first time working with Thaman. He brought a distinct sound to every song. The first song he composed for this film was ‘Suvvi Suvvi’. I couldn’t wait for everyone to hear it. Seeing how much people are loving it after the release makes me really happy.

Were you aware of Pawan Kalyan’s craze beforehand?
His craze is limitless. Even when I was in Bangalore, I knew about it. But working with him personally made me realize that his popularity is even more than I imagined. Despite all the fame, he remains grounded. He’s a down-to-earth person and very simple.

What would he talk about on set?
Mostly about books. He talks about the stories and novels he’s read. He discusses history and sometimes movies and politics. Above all, he talks a lot about people.

Does he give suggestions during shooting?
Before shooting a scene, he discusses it with the director and the actors. He offers insightful suggestions that help the film. As an actor, he makes his role seem very easy. There’s so much to learn from him.

Have you seen the film yet?
Not fully yet. I’ve seen some scenes and the visuals are stunning.

Since this is an action film, is there family drama too?
Definitely. Action is only one part of it. There’s a strong storyline and a family drama as well.

How is Pawan Kalyan on set after becoming Deputy CM?
He seems much calmer and more responsible now. He spends a lot of time thinking about people—how the youth are doing, what’s happening in politics. Being a Deputy CM is not a small thing, and he’s handling his responsibilities admirably.

What’s it like working with director Sujeeth?
He’s very clear about how a scene should be shot and how to get the best performances from actors. If my character and look turned out well, it’s thanks to him.

How’s it working with DVV Entertainment?
It feels like home. I’m lucky to have the chance to do two films with the banner. Honestly, OG was the first film I agreed to, though Saripoda Sanivaram released before it. The producers, Danayya sir and Kalyan sir, are wonderful people, and I have immense respect for them.

What are your upcoming projects?
I’m listening to a few stories in Telugu, and I’m also working on films in other languages.

పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారితో ఓజీ ప్రయాణం గురించి చెప్పండి?
ఓజీతో దాదాపు రెండున్నరేళ్ల ప్రయాణం నాది. ఈ ప్రయాణాన్ని ఎప్పటికీ మరిచిపోలేను. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారితో కలిసి నటించే అవకాశం రావడం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను. ఓజీ సినిమాలో కణ్మని పాత్ర చేయడం మరింత అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నాను. ఇప్పటిదాకా నేను చేసిన పాత్రల్లో కణ్మని నాకు చాలా ఇష్టమైన పాత్ర. ఈ పాత్రకి నా మనసులో ఎప్పటికీ ప్రత్యేక స్థానముంటుంది. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారితో పని చేయడం అనేది ప్రతిరోజూ అదృష్టమే. ఆయన నుంచి ఎన్నో నేర్చుకున్నాను. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు జెంటిల్ మేన్. అందరినీ సమానంగా చూస్తారు. ఆన్ స్క్రీన్ లో మరియు ఆఫ్ స్క్రీన్ లో ఆయన రియల్ హీరో.

ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ లోకి మీరు ఎలా వచ్చారు?
మూవీ అనౌన్స్ మెంట్ అయిన తర్వాత డైరెక్టర్ గారు నాకు ఈ కథ వినిపించారు. కథ నాకు చాలా నచ్చింది. వెంటనే ఈ సినిమా చేయడానికి అంగీకరించాను. నేను పోషించిన కణ్మని పాత్ర చాలా నచ్చింది. పైగా, పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారి సినిమా. సుజీత్ గారు డైరెక్టర్, డీవీవీ ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ నిర్మాణం. ఇంతకంటే ఏం కావాలి ఈ సినిమా ఒప్పుకోవడానికి.

కణ్మని పాత్ర ఎలా ఉండబోతుంది?
ఇది 1980-90లలో జరిగే కథ. పాత్రను మలిచిన తీరు కానీ, ఆహార్యం కానీ అప్పటికి తగ్గట్టుగానే ఉంటుంది. కణ్మని ఒక ఇన్నోసెంట్ స్వీట్ గర్ల్. గంభీర పాత్రతో గాఢమైన ప్రేమలో ఉంటుంది. గంభీర జీవితాన్ని మలుపు తిప్పే పాత్ర కణ్మని.

సువ్వి సువ్వి పాటకు ఈ స్థాయి స్పందన వస్తుందని ముందే ఊహించారా?
తమన్ గారితో మొదటిసారి పని చేశాను. ప్రతి పాటకి వైవిధ్యమైన సంగీతం అందించారు. ఇందులో ఆయన స్వరపరిచిన మొదటి పాట 'సువ్వి సువ్వి'నే. ఈ పాటను అందరికీ వినిపించాలని ఎంతగానో ఎదురుచూశాను. విడుదల తర్వాత అందరికీ సాంగ్ నచ్చడం ఎంతో ఆనందాన్ని ఇచ్చింది.

పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారి క్రేజ్ గురించి మీకు ముందే తెలుసా..?
పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారి క్రేజ్ అనేది అవధులు లేనిది. నేను బెంగళూరులో ఉన్నప్పుడే ఆయన క్రేజ్ గురించి తెలుసు. అయితే ఆయనతో కలిసి నటిస్తున్నప్పుడు తెలిసిందే ఏంటంటే.. నేను ఊహించిన దానికంటే ఇంకా ఎక్కువ క్రేజ్ ఉంది. ఎంత క్రేజ్ ఉన్నా కూడా.. పవన్ గారు ఒదిగే ఉంటారు. డౌన్ టు ఎర్త్ పర్సన్. చాలా సింపుల్ గా ఉంటారు.

సెట్ లో పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు ఏం మాట్లాడేవారు?
ఎక్కువగా పుస్తకాల గురించి మాట్లాడతారు. ఆయన చదివిన కథలు, నవలల గురించి చెప్తారు. చరిత్ర గురించి మాట్లాడతారు. అప్పుడప్పుడు సినిమాలు, రాజకీయాల గురించి కూడా మాట్లాడుతుంటారు. ముఖ్యంగా ప్రజల గురించి ఎక్కువ మాట్లాడతారు.

షూటింగ్ సమయంలో పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు ఏమైనా సూచనలు ఇస్తుంటారా?
సన్నివేశం షూట్ చేయడానికి ముందు దర్శకుడు, నటీనటులతో పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ గారు చర్చిస్తారు. సినిమాకి ఉపయోగపడే పలు గొప్ప సూచనలు ఇస్తుంటారు. నటుడిగా కూడా ఆయన తన పాత్రను చాలా సులభంగా చేస్తుంటారు. పవన్ గారి నుంచి చాలా విషయాలు నేర్చుకోవచ్చు.

మీరు సినిమా చూశారా?
ఇంకా చూడలేదు. కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలు చూశాను. విజువల్ గా చాలా బాగున్నాయి.

ఇది యాక్షన్ సినిమా కదా.. ఫ్యామిలీ డ్రామా ఉంటుందా?
ఖచ్చితంగా ఉంటుంది. ఇందులో యాక్షన్ అనేది ఒక భాగం మాత్రమే. బలమైన కథ ఉంది. ఫ్యామిలీ డ్రామా కూడా ఉంది.

డిప్యూటీ సీఎం అయిన తర్వాత పవన్ గారు సెట్ లో ఎలా ఉన్నారు?
ఇప్పుడు ఆయన చాలా ప్రశాంతంగా, మరింత బాధ్యతగా కనిపిస్తున్నారు. ఎక్కువగా ప్రజల గురించి ఆలోచిస్తారు. ప్రస్తుతం యువత ఎలా ఉన్నారు? రాజకీయాలు ఎలా ఉన్నాయి? వంటి విషయాలు చర్చిస్తుంటారు. డిప్యూటీ సీఎం అంటే చిన్న విషయం కాదు కదా. ఆయన తన బాధ్యతను గొప్పగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.

దర్శకుడు సుజీత్ గారి గురించి?
సీన్ ఎలా తీయాలి, నటీనటుల నుంచి ఎలాంటి నటన రాబట్టుకోవాలి.. ఇలా ప్రతి విషయంపై ఆయనకు స్పష్టత ఉంది. నా క్యారెక్టర్, లుక్ బాగున్నాయంటే దానికి కారణం సుజీత్ గారే.

డీవీవీ ఎంటర్‌టైన్‌మెంట్ బ్యానర్ గురించి?
నాకు హోమ్ ప్రొడక్షన్ లాగా అయిపోయింది. డీవీవీ బ్యానర్ లో వరుసగా రెండు సినిమాలు చేసే అవకాశం రావడం అదృష్టంగా భావిస్తున్నారు. నిజానికి నేను మొదట ఓజీ సినిమానే అంగీకరించాను. కానీ, సరిపోదా శనివారం చిత్రం ముందు విడుదలైంది. నిర్మాతలు దానయ్య గారు, కళ్యాణ్ గారు చాలా మంచి మనుషులు. వాళ్లంటే నాకు అపారమైన గౌరవం.

తదుపరి ప్రాజెక్ట్ లు?
తెలుగులో కొన్ని కథలు వింటున్నాను. అలాగే, వేరే భాషల్లో పలు సినిమాలు చేస్తున్నాను.
