Bandi Saroj Kumar (BSK) is at it again. After the acclaimed Mangalyam, the multi-hyphenate is ready with his next venture, Parakramam, whose trailer was unveiled in Hyderabad on Wednesday in the presence of guests like actor Sundeep Kishan and producer SKN.

Roughly three minutes in length, the trailer opens with Lovaraju (BSK) instantly grabbing your attention by his acts as Charlie Chaplin and Yamadharamaja. He is a theatre artist and a gully cricketer as well. He believes to fight for truth, ethics and honesty aside one needs to have valor which he lacks. As a part of his theatre tour, he comes down to Hyderabad to play Yama at Ravindra Bharathi. A character played by Shruti is head over heels in love with him and he reciprocates. At one point, he is heartbroken and feels that more than love, revenge is a powerful emotion. He wants to balance his life by avenging revenge. As the trailer reveals itself more, he harps on having valor to be successful in life including fighting against 100 men at a time and emerging victorious. The trailer, while not offering a clear picture of the plot, concludes with him running in the middle of a jungle with his hands cuffed similar to that of Chiranjeevi in Khaidi.

In conclusion, Parakramam promises to be another indie affair from Saroj Kumar with a lot of meat and something to ponder about for the audience. It looks to be less raw from his other ventures. The dialogues, however, are powerful with a touch of philosophy. Sample this gem from Lovaraju: the world revolves around money but the money revolves around one with art. As an actor, he leads from the front, showing a great degree of versatility both as a theatre artist and a common man with a fire in his belly. The background score (by BSK himself) enhances the drama quotient. All in all, the film looks to be one-man show, with BSK at the centre of everything.

Also featuring Naga Lakshmi, Mohan Senapati, Nikhil Gopu, Kireeti, Anil Kumar and Shashank Vennelakanti, Parakramam opens in cinemas on August 22.
