Looks like Bollywood heavy hitter Sanjay Dutt is finally set to make his debut in Tollywood– 24 years after sizzling in a small cameo in Nagarjuna-starrer Chandralekha. Reliable sources tell us that he is in the final round of negotiations with production house People Media Factory for a role in Prabhas’ next with Maruthi, a fantasy comedy. “Talks with Sanjay have been initiated long back and they are heading in the right direction. The makers are hopeful that his casting will fall in place before the end of this month. Contrary to rumours, he will not be seen as the film’s antagonist. He will be playing a significant supporting role,” a source close to the development confirms us.

After shooting for a week sometime back, Maruthi is gearing up to start the next schedule of the yet-to-be-titled film shortly in Hyderabad. “Prabhas will be shooting for three-four days while Maruthi will shoot with the other cast for a week. The production house will get the schedule chart in a day or two. Besides the already reported cast of Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar, the film also sees Zarina Wahab and Viva Harsha in key roles,” the source adds.

The makers are yet to finalise a composer for the project and it is likely to be confirmed shortly.
