Ahead of its worldwide trailer premiere on 24 July, the makers of Ramayana hosted an exclusive first unveiling of the film in New Delhi. The evening marked Pratham Sankalp, the ceremonial beginning of Ramayana's journey from Bharat to the World. In Indian tradition, a Sankalp is the conscious intention and commitment made before embarking on a great undertaking. For the makers of Ramayana, it represents a shared commitment to honour one of India's greatest cultural treasures and present it to the world with authenticity, artistic excellence and deep reverence.

New Delhi was chosen as the symbolic beginning of this journey, the heart of a nation whose extraordinary diversity has long been united by the timeless values of the Ramayana.

At the heart of the evening was the first exclusive preview of the official trailer of Ramayana, ahead of its worldwide premiere on 24 July.

The journey began not only in New Delhi, but across India. Through the Ramayana Schools Programme, more than 500 schools and hundreds of thousands of children explored the timeless values of the Ramayana through creative expression. A select group of young winners were invited to be part of Pratham Sankalp, while hundreds of children, creators and fans across 20 cities will experience exclusive trailer previews ahead of its global debut.

Pratham Sankalp also marked the first public coming together of the principal cast of Ramayana, a landmark celebration that united generations of Indian cinema around one of India's greatest cultural legacies.

The evening brought together acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, whose storytelling has resonated with audiences across the world, creating BO benchmarks in markets like China with Dangal; while remaining deeply rooted in Indian emotion and culture - alongside an extraordinary ensemble spanning generations of Indian cinema. Among them were Arun Govil, whose portrayal of Lord Rama remains etched in the hearts of generations of Indians and who now returns to Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana as King Dasharath, father of Rama; the legendary Shobana as Kaikeyi; Ajinkya Deo as Sage Vishwamitra; Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra; Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha; and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana.

Leading this extraordinary ensemble are Superstar Ranbir Kapoor, portraying Maryada Purushottam Lord Rama - the most loved, worshipped and enduring moral compass for generations across India and beyond; Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, bringing grace, strength and compassion to one of the most revered women in history; and pan-India superstar Rocking Star Yash, who is also co-produces Ramayana through his Monster Mind Creations, portraying the mighty and indestructible Ravana - one of the greatest and most formidable antagonists ever known.

The evening was made even more memorable with the surprise presence of Sunny Deol, who portrays the globally beloved Lord Hanuman, one of the most cherished and enduring characters of the Ramayana.
