Actor Sivaji has issued an apology for his remarks. He stated that while trying to convey some positive points, two inappropriate words slipped out, and if those words hurt anyone’s sentiments, he sincerely seeks forgiveness. It is known that his comments suggesting that a heroine’s beauty depends on the clothes she wears triggered severe backlash on social media. In this context, he released a video statement on X.

“Recently, during the Dandora pre-release event, I spoke referring to situations where some heroines faced difficulties. While saying a few good things, I ended up using two inappropriate words. Those words may have hurt some people’s feelings. I was not speaking about all women. My intention was only to say, ‘If you had worn proper clothes while going out, perhaps you might not have faced this trouble,’ and not to insult or demean anyone. Unfortunately, two inappropriate words slipped out, and for that I sincerely apologize.

To me, a woman is power; I regard her as a form of the Goddess. In today’s society, women are often looked down upon. My intention was to say that one should not give room for such situations, and I used colloquial language to convey that. It would have been better if those words had not slipped out. Let me make one thing clear: apart from the intention of saying something good, I had no intention whatsoever to insult or belittle anyone. If the sentiments of women in the industry have been hurt, I once again offer my apologies to all of you.”
