The movie stars National Crush Rashmika Mandanna and talented actor Dheekshith Shetty in the lead roles. It is being jointly produced by Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, presented by Allu Aravind. The Girlfriend is an intense and emotional love story that will release on November 7 in Telugu and Hindi, and on November 14 in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada across the world. The team held a grand pre-release press meet in Hyderabad today.

Music Director Hesham Abdul Wahab said, “This is the first Telugu movie I agreed to do. After Hridayam, Rahul was the first director from Hyderabad to approach me. Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni said, “Director Rahul lives and breathes cinema. Even though he went through personal challenges, he never stopped working. We’re both friends and sometimes rivals, but he’s truly passionate. He plans to buy his own house, and I promise I’ll make that happen after the release of The Girlfriend. We approached several heroes for various stories before this one, but nothing materialized. Two years ago, we narrated this story to Rashmika, and she immediately said yes. Later, we got Dheekshith’s dates, but shooting didn’t happen on schedule. Still, he adjusted multiple times. After this movie, he’ll get many offers in Telugu cinema because his performance is amazing. Hesham was first approached by us before he did Kushi and Hi Nanna. Both Hesham and Prashanth worked without ego and helped us complete the film on time. Vidya akka was crucial + without her, this film wouldn’t have happened. Just like Geetha Arts and Vyjayanthi Movies have worked together, I hope to make at least ten more films with Vidya akka. She’s not in anyone’s shadow; she’s going to be a major producer. He narrated it with great emotion and made it just as beautifully. This isn’t a film to watch for its songs, jokes, or entertainment - it’s one to feel deeply. If not titled The Girlfriend, the film could have been called "Nee Jeevithamantha Nene." It’s a delicate love story between a boy and a girl that ends with powerful intensity. ప్రొడ్యూసర్ అల్లు అరవింద్ మాట్లాడుతూ - నిర్మాతగా ఎన్నో సినిమాలు చేశాను, చేస్తున్నాను. సినిమాల ద్వారా కోట్ల రూపాయలు సంపాదించాను. అందులో దాపరికం లేదు. అయితే "ది గర్ల్ ఫ్రెండ్" సినిమా ద్వారా నేను సంపాదించాలనుకున్నది డబ్బు కాదు. సంతృప్తి. ఈ సినిమా నిర్మించాననే విషయం ఎంతో సంతృప్తినిస్తోంది. మనకు తెలిసిన కొన్ని చెప్పలేని నిజాలను సినిమా మాధ్యమం ద్వారా చెప్పాలి అనే ఫీల్ ఈ కథ విన్నప్పుడు కలిగింది. రాహుల్ లాంటి సున్నిత మనస్కుడు, కమిటెడ్ పర్సన్ మాత్రమే ఇలాంటి సినిమాను రూపొందించగలరు. ఆయన కథ చెబుతున్నప్పుడు ఎంత ఉద్వేగంతో చెప్పారో, సినిమాను కూడా అంతే బాగా తెరకెక్కించారు. ఎన్ని పాటలున్నాయి, ఎన్ని జోక్స్ ఉన్నాయి, ఎంత ఎంటర్ టైన్ మెంట్ ఉంది అని చూసే సినిమా కాదిది. అలా చూస్తే ఈ సినిమా చేయలేం. మన అక్క, చెల్లి, పిన్ని వాళ్ల మనసుల్లో ఏముంటుంది, ఎలాంటి కోర్కెలు ఉంటాయి అనుకుని మూవీ చూడాలి. ది గర్ల్ ఫ్రెండ్ కాకుండా మరో టైటిల్ ఈ సినిమాకు చెప్పమంటే నీ జీవితమంతా నేనే అని చెప్పాలి. అమ్మాయి అబ్బాయి తమ జీవిత భాగస్వామి గురించి ఇలాగే అనుకుంటూ అతి సున్నితంగా సాగే ఈ సినిమా చివరకు అతి ఘాటుగా ముగుస్తుంది. ఈ సినిమా చూశాక చాలామంది ఆ రాత్రి నిద్రపోరు. అంతగా ఈ మూవీ వారిని వెంబడిస్తుంది. ప్రతి ఫ్యామిలీలో ప్రతి పర్సన్ ఈ మూవీలోని కథతో రిలేట్ అవుతారు. తమకు కాకున్నా తమకు తెలిసిన వారికి ఇలా జరిగింది అనుకుంటారు. ఈ సినిమాకు రేటింగ్ ఇవ్వడానికి క్రిటిక్స్ కూడా ఇబ్బంది పడతారు. రశ్మిక మంచి నటి అని తెలుసు. ఈ సినిమాలో జీవించేసింది. దీక్షిత్ పర్ ఫార్మెన్స్ చూసి ఇతను తెలుగులో స్థిరపడతాడు, ఇలాంటి ప్రతిభావంతులను ప్రోత్సహించాలి అనిపించింది. వెంటనే నా సినిమాలో చేస్తున్నావు అంటూ చెక్ ఇచ్చాను. ఏ సీన్ చూసినా ఇంతకంటే బాగా చేయలేం అనేంతగా దీక్షిత్ పర్ ఫార్మ్ చేశాడు. విద్య, ధీరజ్ మంచి ఫ్రెండ్స్. ధీరజ్ ను వాళ్ల నాన్న నాకు పరిచయం చేశాడు. ఇండస్ట్రీలో నిర్మాతగా అంత సులువు కాదు అతనే తెలుసుకుంటాడు అనుకున్నా కానీ ఇలా మా గీతా సంస్థతో కలిసి సినిమాలు చేస్తాడని అనుకోలేదు. విద్య నా కూతురు లాంటిది. నా దగ్గరే పెరిగింది. ఈ రోజు మా గీతా ఆర్ట్స్ ను సొంతం చేసుకుంది. ధీరజ్, విద్య, వాసు, ఎస్ కేఎన్..ఇలా నేను ఎంకరేజ్ చేసిన వాళ్లంతా మాతో కలిసి సినిమాలు చేస్తూ గీతా ఆర్ట్స్ ను పచ్చగా ఉంచుతున్నారు. మీడియా కూడా ఈ సినిమాను ఒక బాధ్యతగా ఫీలై ప్రమోట్ చేస్తారని కోరుకుంటున్నా. అన్నారు.
