Sobhita Dhulipala is taking on a physically demanding role in Pa. Ranjith’s upcoming Vettuvam, and the filmmaker has lauded her dedication and commitment to the project.

Speaking about their collaboration, Ranjith described Sobhita as a “brilliant actor” and revealed that she performed all her action sequences herself without using a stunt double.

“I have watched a lot of her work, and I have been wanting to work with her for a long time. She also wanted to work with me, and it happened with this one. She’s a brilliant actor. Every actor has given their best for sure. Sobhita did not do even one shot with the help of a dupe. Everything was her. The dupe or stunt doubles were only there for camera rehearsals. Ultimately, she would come and perform it because we wanted that authenticity, and she gave it her 100%,” said Ranjith.

For Sobhita, Vettuvam demanded extensive physical preparation and a willingness to take on challenging action choreography. Speaking about the experience, she said, “Some of the things we are doing in this film take 15 or 20 years of practice to achieve that kind of choreography. But every single shoot day, we did the stunts with a lot of spirit and teamwork.”

Her collaboration with Ranjith marks another interesting phase in Sobhita’s career, as she continues to explore challenging roles and work with filmmakers who push her beyond familiar territory.

With Vettuvam, she takes on a distinctly action-oriented role, requiring both physical commitment and intensive stunt work. Ranjith’s appreciation of her dedication, along with Sobhita’s account of the demanding shoot, highlights the effort that has gone into creating her character and the film’s action-driven world.
