Teja, who introduced the likes of Uday Kiran, Reema Sen, Nithiin, Sadah, Navdeep and Prince among others to Telugu film industry, is now launching his son Amitov as a leading man with his next, Vikramaditya, a Nallamalupu Bujji production. While the film was announced last month, the makers didn’t divulge the cast details.
We, however, can confirm that Amitov, who has studied filmmaking (from NYU) and also performed Shakespeare’s plays in the US, will be playing the titular role, with two newbies cast opposite him. Amitov has also assisted Krishna Vamsi and cinematographer Sameer Reddy in the past. “Vikramaditya’s story is set in 1836. In India, the first train was made to ferry stones from Guntur to construct Godavari barrage. The train track was built by Sir Arthur Cotton. The story unfolds in this backdrop,” confirmed a source close to the development.
Teja has hired the services of A-list artisans to help him on this grand vision. “Padmasri Thota Tharani, who worked with Teja for Jayam and Nijam, has been signed on to do the art direction, while Anoop Rubens will compose the music. Teja’s frequent collaborator Sameer Reddy will be the director of cinematography. The film will move to sets in the first week of May, with Teja looking to complete it in a start-to-finish schedule of 60 days,” adds the source.
