Visa is the title of leading production house Sithara Entertainments next with Ashok Galla and its teaser, which promises a quirky romantic comedy, was dropped by the makers on Saturday.
Playing out over one minute and 41 seconds, the teaser opens with Ashok’s part introducing us to his podcast series Visa, where he talks about how Telugus share a prominent connection with The United States after AP and Telangana. We then see multiple youngsters landing in the US to pursue masters’ programme while writer-director Udbhav Raghu tries to throw light on the travails they face in the US. One of the students point out that he was forced to go to the US so that his father could demand more dowry for his wedding. As Ashok talks about the US more, we are next introduced to his love story with a ravishing Sri Gouri Priya of Mail and Mad fame. Their steamy romance and outings dot the rest of the teaser, while a peppy song plays in the background, with Ashok asking us whether we will listen to his love story. We are game, man. The clip ends with a comedy bit involving Satya and Jabardasth fame Rohini doing a YouTube video. They play a married couple living in The Big Apple.
Summing up, the teaser does a good job of giving the viewers a peek into the world of Visa and their protagonists. With Udbhav being a spectator to many Indian young students living in the US, we can trust him to paint an accurate picture and the initial segment of the clip is a proof of that. Nothing is particularly groundbreaking here but the endearing and earnest story still hits, with the stylish and colourful narration giving it an edge. Ashok and Gouri Priya have an infectious chemistry and we certainly believe the conflict that will drive the film will be potent. And for a film starring faces who are up-and-coming, Sithara seems to have left no stone unturned, with their production values.
Also featuring Rahul Vijay, Shivathmika Rajasekhar and Harsha Chemudu, Visa, which is in the final stages of production, has no release date attached to it yet. Baby and Court fame Vijai Bulganin is the music composer.
