Yash Raj Films birthday treat to Jr NTR fans came gift-wrapped in the form of War 2 teaser, which the makers dropped on Tuesday as the man of the masses rang in his 42nd birthday. A little over one-and-a-half minute, the teaser is simply heart-stopping.
Taking off from where the first part concluded, the teaser opens with Tarak’s character addressing Kabir (played by Hrithik Roshan) as India’s best R&AW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent but not anymore. “My eyes have been searching for you Kabir,” Tarak adds. “You don’t know me but you will now,” he goes on before smashing a series of opponents. And as he announces for a war, we get to see a close up of a bearded Kabir, flaunting his muscled biceps and a wolf for company sauntering after what appears to be completing a demolition job. It’s obvious that Tarak is in hot pursuit of Kabir and this job entails him jumping off a bridge onto a moving train, diving from a plane and driving at a speed of knots in European cities and what not! It's pure mayhem out there but we aren’t complaining. The teaser concludes with an epic showdown between Tarak and Kabir.
Summing up, the teaser is electrifying and gives a glimpse into the adrenaline-pumping action, thrills, drama and a lot of special effects. In fact, it is dotted with jaw-dropping stunt sequences in the vein of the earlier War film and if the teaser is any indicator, the stakes are higher and the action next level. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the international locales in all their glory, while the fast-paced action is dealt with finesse. There is Kiara Advani as well and she oozes hotness. Uff! The two towering performers they are, Hrithik and Tarak bring their A-game to the fore.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is a part of YRF’s ambitious Spy Universe and vrooms into cinemas on August 14. It is Tarak’s maiden Hindi film.
