It is very common
in Telugu film industry that people who are successful in their
movies, plan to make movies and slowly build a film studio or invest
in fixed assets of their own when they earn enough money. In the
recent times Chiranjeevi is one hero who wanted to spend for deeds
of charity than for his own glorification in the industry, as he
feels the responsibility towards his fans and more importantly towards
the society. It's not untrue to say that his deeds motivated many
of his fans towards charity and social service/welfare. Chiranjeevi
should be commended for the same.
On Oct 02 1998
Megastar Chiranjeevi started Chiranjeevi Eye & Blood Bank under
the flagship of Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust to give back to the
people whatever he could on the humanitarian ground thus demonstrating
a new dimension in his personality. A part of his earnings have
been going to Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT).
Blood bank of
the CCT served over 80000 people since its inception, which itself
is a record by operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The eye
bank served 780 people so far in the short time after its inception.
Recently he started focusing on child relief too. What Chiranjeevi
does through CCT is a noble cause that should be appreciated and
every hit movie of Chiranjeevi implies more funds to the CCT.
To this date
he is still modest for all those innumerable achievements and honors
he had received. In spite of tasting such tremendous success through
out his career, it hasn't got on to his head. He is still the same
caring, loving and cultured man both for his family and fans.
fans are also following the path by generously donating huge sum
of six plus lakh of money towards CM relief fund for Tsunami victims.
Chiranjeevi also contributed a sum of rupees 2 million for this
noble cause. Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust is all set to move to
a new building at Banjara hills very soon. Land to CCT was given
by Government of Andhra Pradesh and all the expenses for this building
were funded by Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi is funding the expenses
required for the Charitable Trust by doing commercial TV advertisements
and promos like Thumps Up and Emami. Incidentally after Chiranjeevi
endorsed thumps up, market share of Thumpsup in AP went up to phenomenal
75% of the cola brands.
