Gudipoodi Srihari Review

The film is sensible and the credit must go to director Ayyappa P. Sarma who made Eswar Allah (focusing on secularism) earlier. In fact, the film gains a lot, thanks to the contribution of P.J. Sarma and his three sons, Saikumar, Ravi Sankar and Ayyappa Sarma.

Saikumar appears in the end, while his father and both the younger brothers play interesting roles. Sivacharan, son of fight master Raju, plays the lead role. All the action scenes picturised on him display his ease and skill. Indeed, this is a violent film, but with a sensible storyline.

It is the story of a docile young man, Sivacharan (Sivacharan), who becomes a don by dint of circumstances. He stops at Hyderabad before he leaves for Dubai for a job. But, two members of a local gang steal his bag. A panic-sticken Sivacharan gets the support of a handicapped man, Baba (Ayyappa Sarma), who takes him to narsing Yadav, a rowdy sheeter. He, in turn, leads him to another don named Raman.

Narsing and Raman, sworn enemies, suddenly get down to a gang war. On receiving the information, police step in. As the gangs are used to this kind of situation, they vanish. Sivacharan is picked up by the police and is tortured. However, he is released when it is confirmed that he is not part of the mafia. Sicacharan attempts suicide but is saved by Baba.

Having started a new life, he stays with a call girl Rani (Ravali). Different experiences push the hero from one situation to another. In one such encounter, he brutally beats up the brother of super don Abu Salem (Ravi Sankar). In the process, he, too, grows into a powerful don. Thus, a drama is set for a head-on collision between the two rival gangs. Rani and Sivacharan are brought into wedlock as a kind of social reform measure.

Photography and background music go well with the theme. However, the film needs some editing. Sivacharan who makes his debut, plays a role he likes. He has the perfect physique to suit the character. Ravi Sankar as Abu Salem steals the limelight. At times, his style resembles that of Raghuvaran. Ravali suits her role. Rest of the artistes also leave their mark.
