Nagababu for MAA President
Nagababu is going to contest for the post of MAA (Movie Artists Association) president. Sivaji Raja, Jagapati Babu and Srihari would be contesting for the posts of secretary, executive president and vice president respectively. It has been a custom in Telugu film industry only one panel applies for MAA elections and the panel would be elected unanimously. In the entire history of MAA elections, only once two panels contested (Murali Mohan and Rajendra Prasad).

Nuvvu Nenu Prema in October
Surya’s latest film Nuvvu Nenu Prema is all set to release in the first week of October on the eve of Vijaya Dasami. Jyothika and Bhumika are doing female leads. AR Rehman scored music is already popular. Audio CD of this film was released today. Krishna is making his debut as director with this film.

Abaddam with Prakash Raj
There has been a news earlier that Anandi Arts is dubbing the Telugu version of Uday Kiran’s Tamil film Poi. Speaking to idlebrain.com, Gemini Kiran confirmed that he is not doing Abaddam project anymore. The Telugu rights of this film is still in the hands of Prakash Raj. The Tamil version is releasing soon.

Vamsi’s Inka 7 Rojulu
As per the gossip going around in film nagar, Vamsi’s latest thriller’s title is expected to be ‘Inka Yedu Rojulu’. Aryan Rajesh and Hamsa Nandini are playing main leads. Most of the story takes place in forests and this film is extensively shot Rampachodavaram and Vikarabad forests. Ilayaraja scores music. PG Vinda handles cinematography. Shiva 2006 on 15th September
Ram Gopal Varma’s latest directorial venture Shiva 2006 is all set to release on 15th of September. This film is a sequel of Shiva. Audio of this film was released in a grand style on 11th of August. Siva Nageswara Rao’s film Photo is going to release on 1st of September. This thriller has three songs. Siva Balaji’s horror film ‘Aganthakudu’ is releasing on 31st of September. Seven heroes for Bommarillu disc function
Bommarillu triple platinum disc function is going to be held at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad on the evening of 26th August. This function will be graced by seven heroes - Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, NTR, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Siddharth and Nitin. Audio of this film scored by Devi Sri Prasad turned out to be a big hit and topping charts for the past few weeks.

Ali as Laila
When the title Tata Birla Madhya Laila was announced, everybody expected Laya (heroine of this film) to be the Lalila. The director pulled off surprise in the audio function by unvieling the poster of Laila. That Laila is none but comedy actor Ali. Vijayalakshmi attempts suicide
Vijaya Lakshmi who did the role of sister in Jagapati Babu - Venu film ‘Hanuman Junction’ attempted suicide in Bangalore yesterday (23rd August). She is safe now. Audio of Nagarjuna’s Boss will be released on 3rd of September. Nagarjuna plays boss of a construction business company and Nayana Tara plays his secretary. Poonam Bajwa is playing second female lead. VN Aditya directs this film and Kalyani Malik composes music. Chintapally Ramana pens dialogues. Siva Kumar who worked for Nenunnanu did cinematography for this film. VN Aditya directs the film and D Siva Prasad Reddy is the producer. Boss will be released in the second half of September.

5000 junior artists participated in the climax shoot of Chiranjeevi Stalin film yesterday at an Orphan’s school in Kothapet. The shooting of this film is taking place at ENT Hospital in Kothapet. Kalyani turns buyer with Brahmastram
Actress Kalyani started a distribution outlet called ‘Midas Touch’ and bought the theatrical exhibition rights of Jagapati Babu’s latest film Brahmastram for Chennai. This film is directed by her husband Surya Kiran. Producer said that Kalyani is one of very few distributors who paid the entire money before handing over the print.

Doctorate to Dharmavarapu
Nagarjuna University will be honoring popular Telugu film comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam with a honorary doctorate. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam was active in television before becoming big in films. He also directed a film titled ‘Thokaleni Pitta’. He is also a member in Congress party and holds a good government position today.

Vijaya Shanti panic over Nayudamma
Vijaya Shanti’s Nayudamma’s release got delayed by a day in many centers. The unit of this film recently arranged a success meet in Sashikala theater of Moosapet. Music of lyricist Kula Sekhar’s directorial debut film ‘Premalekha Raasa’ was launched at a function held in Padmalaya studios tonight. Speaking on the occasion Kula Sekhar said that film is technician’s media and it is the technician (director) who makes a hero. Audio of this film will be released at a high profile function to be organized at Hotel Marriot on the night of 11th August with Nagarjuna Akkineni gracing as chief guest. This film will be released on 25th of August.

K Sridhara Rao who produced the classic Nartanasala expired on the night of 29th July at his residence in Chennai. His home town is Tenali. His wife Lakshmi Rajyam acted as heroine in many films. He established Rajyam pictures banner in 1951 and made many films with NTR as hero. May his soul rest in peace.
