Ileana with Mahesh
Ileana is said to have signed on the dotted line for Mahesh Babu’s next film in the direction of Trivikram. Incidentally this couple of being repeated after the industry hit Pokiri. Varudu is title under consideration for this film. This film is the second one in the combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram. And it also the second one in the combination of Trivikram and Ileana.

Vishnu reduces weight
Following the footsteps of Jr. NTR, Vishnu has reduced his weight to an amazing extent. Everybody gasped with surprise when a lean Vishnu (photo here) walked on the stage at the music launch of Ram's latest film Ready. Arya sequel by Sukumar – Allu Arjun
Arya which got critic’s appreciation and commercial success to Sukumar, Allu Arjun and Dil Raju is going to have a sequel now. Sukumar is going to direct the sequel with Allu Arjun as hero. Chatrapati Sivaji and Aditya (producer of Jagadam) are going to joinly produce this Arya sequel. Dil Raju has bought the Nizam rights of this film. This sequel is the next film of Allu Arjun after Arya.

The movie lovers in Vijayawada are in for a treat. The first multiplex in Vijayawada city was launched in the form of INOX. This 3-screen multiplex is built in Urvasi complex in Gandhi Nagar. The inaugural films are Speed Racer, Bhootnadh, Parugu and Chronicles of Narnia. The seating capacity for all three screens together is 1087. These are digital theaters with the facility of satellite projection.

Motion capture for Kantri film
NTR created a unique Indian record by being the first film actor in India to do the motion capture for his role in Kantri. Premiere FX firm Pixelloid has done this rare thing. Krishna Vamsi’s Rudraksha?

Annadanam for Kantri release
C Aswini Dutt has done annadanam for 50 days and 100 days of his blockbusters Indra and Subhalagnam. With the confidence he has for the success of Kantri, he will be doing Annadanam in all major centers on the release day itself. Kantri is all set to release all over the world with 300 prints. NTR, Hansika Motwani and Tanishaa played main leads. Meher Ramesh directed the film.

Sharvanand in a Tamil film
Actor Sharvanand who got good critical acclaim for his films like Amma Cheppindi and Gamyam seem to have attracted the attention of Tamil film industry. His first Tamil film ‘Nallai Namadai’ was launched at AVM studio, Chennai on 2 May. Pardiban and Murali did honors for the muhurat shot. Sanusha who did the girl child in Pawan Kalyan’s Bangaram film is making her debut as heroine now. This film is being producer by an orphanage and all the profits from this project will go to the welfare of that orphanage. This film is currently shooting in Coimbattore.

Actor Jakir turns director
Jakir who did one of the roles in Bachelors film is directing a film titled ‘Idi Asalu Katha’ which features Avin and Akanksha in the main leads. Jakir is also doing a vital role. Poonam Bajwa in Parugu
Just like Neha (Dil fame) did a small role in Bommarillu film, Poonam Bajwa is doing a small yet vital role in Bommarillu Bhaskar’s second film Parugu. It is premiere time for Parugu. The previews of the film are being shown on continuous basis in Prasad labs preview theater since morning today. Producer Dil Raju is arranging official premieres in Prasads Multiplex at 10:15 in all five screens.

Jagapati Babu voice over for Victory
Jagapati Babu is doing voice over for Nitin’s next film Victory. Ravi C Kumar who gave a hit to Jagapati Babu in the form of Samanyudu in the past is directing this film. A theatrical trailer with his voice over was released today. Victory audio will be launched on 11 May and the film is expected to hit the marquee in the end of May.

The activists recently raided the house of director KS Nageswara Rao and found that he is using child as labor. The media (TV as well as print) published this news with Siva Nageswara Rao name attached to it due to name confusion. NTR award for the year 2006 will be given to Telugu and Hindi veteran actress Waheeda Rehman. Jalsa film postponed
The film Jalsa which is expected to release on 28 of this month is postponed to 2 April. The reason for delay is said to be DI (digital intermediate – color grading). The producer Allu Arvind did not want to have any last minute tensions and hence postponed the date by a few days. Trivikram directed this film. Ileana, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Parvati Melton did the roles of heroines.

Uday Shankar arrested
Director Uday Shankar is arrested in connection with the death of a junior artist Mahendra Sharma who died while acting as a dupe to Ravi Teja. This unfortunate incident happened near Rajahmundry on 16 of this month. The local people lodged a complaint against the unit members. The police have arrested Uday Shankar and took him to Rampachodavaram to present him to the court.

Bhumika’s Mallepoovu

Yesteryears popular hero Sobhan Babu (71) expired today morning. He expired due to spinal card injury after falling while walking on the steps. He was born in 14 January in 1937 in China Nandigama as Uppu Sobhana Chalapati Rao. He changes his name as Sobhan Babu after entering the films. He made his debut with Bhakta Sabari. He won 5 Nandi awards and 4 filmfare awards. He retired from films 13 years back and has been spending retired life in Chennai. He is survived by a son and three daughters. The cremation will have once his elder daughter arrives from USA. May his soul rest in peace!

Aswini Dutt to produce a film with Krish

Playback Singer Usha won the Nandi Award from State Government of Andhra Pradesh for the Best Female Playback Singer (TV Category) for the year 2006. Kajal in Ram Charan Teja’s heroine
Kajal Agarwal is signed for Ram Charan Teja’s second film in the direction of SS Rajamouli. Kajal Agarwal made her debut with Lakshmi Kalyanam. She later acted in Chandamama and Pourudu. MM Keeravani composes music. Vijayendra Prasad pens story. A part of the film will be shot in Rajasthan state. Allu Arvind produces this film on Geeta Arts banner.

Raviraja Pinisetti to direct Raja
Ravi Raja Pinisetti will direct and produce Raja’s next film. Raja’s latest film Mr. Medhavi was released a couple of weeks back. His films Nee Sukhame Ne Koruthunna and Bhadradri are due for the release in this month. Raja has signed Ravi Raja Pinisetti project recently. This film will go to floors very soon.

Venkat Kuchipudi’s ‘Murthy in America’
Venkat Kuchipudi is planning to direct a film titled ‘Murthy in America’ by casting R Narayana Murthy in the title role. This film is said to be a comedy about a guy who hates America and American policies traveling to USA. A prominent heroine will also be there. But there will not be any romantic thread between hero and heroine. Venkat Kuchipudi is currently producing and directing John Appa Rao 40+.

Erra Samudram targets SEZs
R Narayana Murthy is currently producing and directing a film titled Erra Samudram. This film protest against converting fertile lands into SEZs (Special Economic Zones). R Narayana Murthy says that SEZs are supposed to be given unfertile lands, but the government is doing just the opposite. This film will be released on 6 March on the eve of Maha Siva Rathri.

Kalpana Rai and Lakshmipati are no more
Telugu film industry is saddened with the deaths of two comedians. Veteran comedy actress Kalpana Rai expired today morning. Soggadu was her last film. Upcoming comedy actor Lakshmipati expired today. Incidentally Lakshmipati is the elder brother of director Sobhan who expired last month. Kunal who acted as hero in Premikula Roju is also expired today. May their souls rest in peace.

Marthand Shankar to direct Varun Sandesh
Marthand Shankar - younger brother of popular film editor Marthand K Venkatesh - is going to make his debut as director very soon. This film will have Varun Sandesh playing the male lead. Prestigious banner AVM will be reentering Telugu film industry after a big gap. This film is likely to go to floors in the month of April when the shooting of Varun Sandesh’s ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ completes.

Brahmanandam to be highlight in Ready
Brahmanandam who contributed his might in the success of films like Dhee and Krishna is said to have played yet another entertaining part in Seenu Vytla’s latest film Ready with Ram and Genelia in the main leads. It is reliably learnt that Brahmanandam is doing a big role with lot of footage by providing lots of humor in the second half of the film.

Lakshyam director wedding
Srivas who made it big by directing the blockbuster Lakshyam is going to enter the wedlock at 9pm on the night of 16 February at JK Gardens (Jawahar Lal Nehru Road) in Rajahmundry. He will be marrying Lakshmi. Lets wish him a great future!

PC Sreeram for Teja’s Keka
Teja is going to produce and direct a film titled Keka on Chitram Movies banner. He associated with some corporate companies to hunt the new talent. PC Sreeram will handle cinematography. Thota Tharani handles art department. This film is likely to go on sets from 22nd of February.

John Appa Rao 40+ pushed to 22 February
John Appa Rao 40+ which is slated to release on 14 February is pushed to 22nd February due to DI (Digital Intermediate) delay. Krishna Bhagwan plays the title role and Simran is paired up with him. Remix songs composed by Kiran Varanasi were released recently. Venkat Kuchipudi who made his debut with Modati Cinema is directing and producing this comedy flick.

Mee Sreyobhilashi in other languages
Director Eeswar Reddy is planning to take Mee Sreyobhilashi film beyond Andhra borders. He is planning to screen it to Amitab Bachchan and ask him to play the role of Rajendra Prasad in Hindi version. Popular character artist Nassar expressed his interest in remaking this film in Tamil language. Looks like Mee Sreyobhilashi is poised to go places.

Bapu - Mullapudi fight on 8 Feb
In a rare occasion, the inseparable pair Bapu and Mullapudi is going fight out in public all over the world on 8 February. Bapu’s Sundarakanda and Mullapudi Vara’s (son of Mullapudi Venkata Ramana) Visakha Express are going to release on 8 February. Incidentally Allari Naresh plays hero in both these films. Bapu’s name and Charmme’s craze plays major role for Sundarakanda. SS Rajamouli and Chandra Sekhar Yeleti association with Vishakha Express is a plus point.

Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s love story
After directing thrillers like Aithe and AOR and mass film like Okkadunnadu, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is going to direct a fresh love story. This film has the backdrop of Sweden. He is looking for new faces for this film. The shooting is likely to start in the month end of February 2008 and the film is slated for the release in summer. Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is also turning into a producer through this film. More details later.

Veteran Telugu and south Indian film singer P Suseela is one of the winners of Padma Bhushan awards that are announced today on the eve of Indian Republic Day. Ella Venkateswara Rao (Mrudangam expert), Kootikuppala Surya Rao (social service) and Jonnalagadda Gurrapa Setty (social service) are the other Telugu persons who got Padma Sri award.

Swagatam with USA premiere 24 January
Hero Jagapati Babu is so confident about the success of his latest film Swagatam that he is releasing the film in USA on his own. This film is extensively shot in New Jersey and the surrounding areas. 60% of the screen time is having the backdrop of USA. CA Cinema is distributing Swagatam on behalf of Jagapati Babu. This film is releasing with six prints in USA and all the prints have already been dispatched to USA. There will be premieres of Swagatam in USA on the night of 24th January as the film is releasing in India on the morning of 25 January.

Mr. Medhavi in USA premieres on 25 January
Hero Raja is turning into distribution with his latest film Mr. Medhavi. He bought the USA rights from the producer and releasing it through RK Film distributors in USA. This film also sports Genelia who is on high with two successive success Bommarillu and Dhee. National award winning director Neelakanta directed this venture. This film will be premiered on the night of 25 January as the film is releasing n 26 January in India.

Moser Baer Telugu film from Ugadi
Moser Baer - the optical media maker with a significant world share - has entered into home DVD/VCD market last year. It has already started making movies in Hindi and Tamil. Moser Baer will launch it’s Telugu film on Ugadi day. Moser Baer is planning to produce several films simultaneously with a budget of 50 crores.

Rajni and Jagapati in Vyjayanthi film
C Aswini Dutt and GP Vijaya Kumar would be jointly producing the Telugu version of Rajnikant’s latest film in the direction of P Vasu (Chandramukhi fame). This film is a remake of Malayalam film Katha Paryambol (Mammotty). Rajnikant and Jagapati Babu play siblings in this film. Brahmanandam, Sunil, Venu madhav and Tanikella Bharani play other roles. The regular shooting of this film will start in the second half of February. A press meet was arranged in Chennai on 15th January in Taj Coromandel, Chennai to announce this news.

Lawrence and Sneha in Pardhu
Lawrence is going to act in another film titled Pardhu. He is paired up with actresses Sneha and Namitha in this film. Manyam Ramesh will produce this film on Manyam entertainments banner. Pardhu regular shooting will start on 21 January and will be shot in Naidupet, Madhurai, Chennai, Dubai and Hyderabad. Srikanth Deva composes music. Manyam entertainments is aiming at releasing this film in the first week of May.

Mee Sreyobhilashi prints to be doubled
Mee Sreyobhilashi film was released on 28th of December with 18 prints. CC Reddy announced today that Mee Sreyobhilashi is going steady by surviving the Sankranthi big releases. On public demand from the distributors, he is doubling the print number from 18 to 36 from next week onwards.

Krishnarjuna on 1 February
Nagarjuna - Vishnu film Krishnarjuna will be hitting the marquee on 1 February. Mamata Mohandas played the female lead. P Vasu (Chandramukhi fame) directed this film. This film is supposed to have a novel story idea that never appeared before on Telugu screen. MM Keeravani composed music. Mohan Babu produces film. He also did a small guest appearance.

Okka Magaadu US city prints dispatched
Ntertainment Unlimited - distributor of Okka Magaadu in USA - informs us that all the US prints of Okka Magaadu were reached New Jersey today morning at 6:30 am. These prints are in their way to the various cities of USA. The premiere would be screened as the schedule on 10 January evening in all major centers of USA.

Tammareddy responds to Posani allegation
Posani alleged Dasari in TV channels that he delayed ‘Apadamokkulavadu’ release because there are references to Chiranjeevi’s political entrance in the film. TV channels repeated the telecast this issue and made it a big discussing point. AP Film Producers Counsel president Tammareddy Bharadwaja held a press meet today and asked Posani Krishna Murali to report the matter to Telugu film. Posani too responded to producers counsel in a sarcastic way.

Premabhishekam in RFC
Venu Madhav is producing a film titled Premabhishekam (Veediki cancer ledu) with himself as hero on Savitri banner (established on his mother name). Vikram Gandhi directs this film. A song is being canned on Venu Madhav, Priyanka and Ruthika in the choreography of Ashok Raj. This song comes during the titles of the film. Srihari and Nagababu play important characters.

Director Sobhan expired
Young director Sobhan who directed films like Varsham, Chanti and Bobby expired today due to acute cardiac arrest. He was in the house of Bhumika when it happened. The Bhumika couple brought Sobhan to Image Hospital, Madhapur. But he expired by the team he is reached the hospitals. Idlebrain.com mourns the death of this young director and expresses deepest condolences to bereaved family.

Sankranthi releases spaced out
This Sankranthi is witnessing the release of four Telugu films. However, these four films are spaced out in such a way that there is no clash of release dates. Okka Magaadu, Krishna, Pourudu and Vaana are going to release on 11, 12, 13 and 15 respectively. The first three films are mass films where are Vaana is a young love story. The first three films are straight films where as Vaana is a remake.

Brahmanandam sanmanam spree
It has become a mandatory and an unwritten guideline for all filmmaker to the felicitate Brahmanandam whenever they are going to face to the media. All the Telugu film production companies in which Brahmanandam is currently acting are going to felicitate Brahmanandam whenever they hold a press meet. The unit of Premabhishekam and Nee Sukhame Ne Koruthunna have already felicitated Brahmanandam. MAA team felicitated Brahmanandam when they met to release MAA diary recently. The AP Film Critics Association is also planning to felicitate Brahmanandam tomorrow.
