Authored by Neelima Pudota herself, the Telugu girl who has climbed Mt. Everest in 2016 and published by BSC Publishers and distributors, the book was launched by the Ace cricketer, Indian Women’s cricket Captain Miss. Mithali Raj on Sunday at National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Gachibowli.

Set at a picturesque background overlooking the lake at the institute, the open Auditorium went well with the drizzly evening. A life size image of Neelima on the Everest welcomed us with a tent to give a feel of the Mountains. Also displayed were the equipment she used to climb the Everest which caught the attention and curiosity of everyone. Minutes later, celebrities like Mithali Raj, Tollywood star Priyadarshi Pulikonda, National award winning film maker Raj Kandukuri and the former MD/VC of SAAP Mrs. Rekha Rani (popularly known for getting Sachin Tendulkar to adopt a village in Nellore while she was the district collector) graced the occasion. Book was launched before the media unveiling the beautiful cover page with the silhouette of Neelima against a Mountain backdrop.

The cover page instantly caught everyone’s attention, but what was more engaging was a panel discussion moderated by Author and columnist Sriram Karri. It is indeed a rare event like this where we get to know what goes behind dreaming and achieving something like Climbing the Mt. Everest or heading the Indian Women’s cricket team for 2 World Cups, a feat no sportswoman or Sportsman has ever achieved in the history of cricket. Deep insights into the courage, Determination and Discipline that goes behind historic moments like this serves as an eye opener and inspiration to the younger generation.

Discussion was followed by a Book Signing session by the Author where the elderly and children showed extreme enthusiasm. We saw the author in high spirits on her big day answering the questions of everyone with patience.
