Vittal
(Mohan Babu) is a rowdy who commands respect from state
heads like CM. He hates women and remains a bachelor
even at the age of 45. Kaveri (Charmme) is a naughty
college student. She grabs the attention of Vithal and
makes him fall in love with her. She does it for fun
where as she is seriously in a love with another guy
(Abbas). Vithal proposes her, but she could not say
no to him due to fear. The rest is all about how all
ends well.
Mohan Babu donned three
get-ups in this film. He is looking good in 30+ get-up
among the three. His signature is evident in his histrionics.
Charmme is adequate. She
exposed liberally in the songs. Prakash
Raj is good. Kota, Vizag
Prasad and Abbas
are fair. Comedy by Brahmanandam
in the first half is an asset. Tanikella
Bharani acted as uncle of Mohan Babu. 
This
film is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Adi Thadi. Story
line is suitable for Mohan Babu. But the director failed
in getting it right in the film. Screenplay is mediocre.
Direction is not up to the mark. The taking of the film
is also old standard. A few political satires by Paruchuri
brothers are good. Camera work is very inconstant. Music
by Sandeep Chowta is average. Last two songs are good.
Last song (a rap song) is picturized in MTV style by
Bosco Caesar (a la Bunty aur Babli song).
Analysis:
The plus point of the film is Mohan Babu's performance.
The major drawbacks of the film are screenplay, direction
and photography. On a whole, Political Rowdy disappoints.
Mohan Babu has got extraordinary talent as an actor
and it's sad to see his talent not being exploited by
the directors. It's high time for Mohan Babu to choose
experienced and successful directors instead of going
for inexperienced ones.
