The excitement started 4 days prior to the release of the movie here in Chennai when the advance booking at Sathyam 70MM complex. There was unprecedented crowd by 8am in the morning and the Tickets for day 1 were sold in 10 minutes.

The actual excitement began on the evening of 23rd when 2 cutouts each 30feet and 40 feet were erected in front of the theater by the students of Hindustan, SRM and other Engineering colleges. On THE day, people started pouring in by 8am again though the show was at 11.30 am. Seeing the crowd and the hungama by the fans, the theater management allowed a small procession of students and fans clad in Tagore T-shirts and bandannas by requesting the police for about 30 mins... poojas were performed and crackers were burst and there was a huge traffic jam and that resulted into the intervention of the local police who had to use their Lathis slightly to discharge the group. ongoing passers by and other people were amazed at the sight and were asking about what the matter was. There was so much havoc and noise in and around the theater that police put up bandobast to avoid any untoward incidents. It was interesting to notice the comments of the police saying that "Chiranjeevi seems to be having a following totaling to that of Late MGR and Superstar Rajnikant".. after we went into the theater it was as usual as any other person described, "nothing could be heard except fans galatta". I had gone to watch the movie again the night show on second day and the response from the crowd was the same... and the crowd and havoc is no way different today (3rd day too..) There is a unanimous verdict.."Megastar is MEGASTAR" "We dont BREAK records, we CREATE them.."

It is also interesting to note that Fans of other heroes also gave a sincere appraisal saying the movie was "Simply Superb". Lastly, I couldnt buy the ticket for first day in advance booking so I bought it in black for Rs.300... lucky me! people who came after me spent Rs.500 each....!!! also It rained in the morning on 24th once again proving rains also welcome chiru movies..!!!
