Story

Jil jeevi review
Jai (Gopichand) is a fire officer. He happens to help a stranger Ranganath (Brahmaji), who is the right man of Mumbai don Chota Naik (Kabir Duhan Singh). He turns informer and runs away with the money of Chota Naik. Chota suspects Jai to be an accomplice of Ranganath and starts troubling him. The rest of the story is all about how Jai teaches a lesson to Kabir for messing up with him.

Artists Performance

Jil jeevi review Actors: Gopichand never looked so stylish in his entire career. His costumes are new and body language is different for this movie. He looks cool in romantic episodes and terrific in action sequences. Gopichand has danced well. Rashi Khanna is glamorous as leading lady. And she did well as an actress. New villain Kabir Duhan Singh is outstanding with his looks as a gritty villain. He is an actor to look out for in the future. Srinivas Avasarala did an insignificant role. Brahmaji has done a key role with limited screen time. Posani Krishna Murali is usual. Urvasi is endearing with a funny Telugu accent..

Technical departments

Jil jeevi reviewStory - screenplay - direction: Jil is a film that depends more on style quotient than the story. The hero/villain conflict point in the basic plot is not exciting enough. Debutant director Radha Krishna definitely has potential in him to make it big. He made sure that the film is chic and stylish throughout, but overlooked a strong emotionally striking connect between the hero and villain. The love episodes are cute and family drama is nice. We expect Brahmaji to be connected to Gopichand somehow (as enough hints were given in first half). And the emotional impact goes missing when we realise that both of them are just strangers to each other.

Jil jeevi review Other departments: Cinematography by Sakthi Sarvanan is vibrant. Music by Ghibran is trendy and goes with flow. Background music is also good. Action choreography by Anl Arasu is excellent. Choreography and songs locations in Spain deserve a special mention. Art direction of AS Prakash is good. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is fine. Producers Pramod and Vamsi made sure that they spared no efforts to make a grand film and promote it on a huge scale.

Analysis:
First half of the film is nice. Second half is little slow. Plus points of the film are good technical standards, great production values, songs and stylized content. On the flip side, the content in second half is not effective and it’s violent at times. We have to wait and see how Jil (coming from Gopichand whose previous film Loukyam a big hit and UV Creations whose two films Mirchi and Run Raja Raun were big hits) fares at box office.
