Story

Srinivas (Sivaji Raja) and Padmavathi (Rathi) meet as strangers while traveling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. Incidentally they happen to work in the same place. They face problem of accommodation as nobody is willing to rent their places out for singles. Hence they decide to act as husband and wife in order to rent a house. They live together as roommates. The rest of the story is all about how they get close to each other and fall in love.

Artists Performance

Sivaji Raja has done well. He has become a pretty good and very familiar actor with his consistent portrayal of various characters in Television. His character becomes just an extension to what he has been doing on TV. He did his work effortlessly. Rathi is good. Changing of the girl she uses for dubbing helped in getting a maturity to her character. Karthik is adequate. Harika is neat in her small role.

Technical Departments:

Veteran character artist Ranganath made his debut as director through this film. The storyline of two strangers forced to stay together is an age old formula that came in films like old Missamma. Direction of the film is old-fashioned. Screenplay is sloppy. However, Ranganath succeeded in getting some sensibility to the characters of Sivaji Raja and Rathi. The romance between lead pair is bit poetic and often reminds us of Bapu's style. Cinematography by Raju is mediocre. Dialogues are OK. Music by Raj Kiran is not up to the mark.

Analysis: This film is about a man and a woman who are forced to live together in guise of husband and wife. Such a film with 90% of the scenes focusing on two people needs tremendous screenplay and exceptionally good narrative skills. But the old-fashioned direction and unimaginative screenplay became a hindrance.
