G. Nageswara Reddy, who shot into fame with the coarse comedy
6 Teens, is coming up with yet another love story, Girl Friend
for Sri Kumaraswamy Creations.
This time he took up a more sensible and a sensitive theme
bordering on the generation gap. Rohit and Anita Patel play
the lead roles with Pawan and Babloo as the hero's close friends.
"Though it is a love story with all the masala ingredients
of a full length entertainer, the central theme portrays ego
clash between the father and son. A few of the youth from
the present generation have a fascination for girls, fast
life and more.
They defy even their parents when they reprimand them for
irresponsible behavior. Like in some of the real life incidents,
in our film too, there is a clash between the father and son
over the girlfriend his son intends to marry. The father is
naturally worried when the son deviates for his set goal attracted
by other pleasures. Reeling under boyish arrogance, the son's
ideology is rather different. And then the story takes a curious
turn.
The idea is to drive home the point that the father's wish
is always to see his son prosper. At the same time he should
be able to know what his children want, give that to them
and get what he expects from them. Then no generation gap
would exist. This is the message that comes as an undercurrent
to the theme and it is meant for the youth as well as their
patents. "Though this film, we are trying to analyse
the thought process of the present generation," informs
the director.
A major attraction of the movie is a special song filmed on
Rohit and Ruthika. The heroine of 6 Teens who makes a guest
appearance. She plays here her real life role of an actress.
This song Taluku Taluku Taraka composed by Vandemataram Srinivas
and Choreographed by Venu-Pal duo is envisaged to be a highlight
besides the comic interludes from L.B. Sriram and M.S. Narayana
and the dialogue by Marudhuri Raja. Producer Kumaraswamy feels
that the climax is quite new and surprises the audience as
it belies their imagination. Chalapati Rao and Tanikella Bharani
play stellar roles in this movie.
