goes the latest foot-tapper shot amidst the beautiful locales in Vancouver, Canada. Venky with his fresh look and stunning attire along with sizzling Aarthi Agarwal make it a treat to watch for movie watchers with their well-performed steps. But wait.. who made the song so appealing and made it a chart buster..the director, of course. Yesss..let us talk about three young directors who were recently introduced to our beloved tollywood. Let us learn a little bit about Vijay Bhaskar, Teja and Poori Jagannath in this article today.

Vijay Bhaskar:-

Introduced to tollywood as a director ten years back, Vijay Bhaskar directed his first movie 'Prarthana' for hero Suresh's home banner. He waited for his second break for 8 years to direct a film introducing Venu and Laya as hero and heroines. The movie was Swayamvaram. Although his second movie was termed as good, it was not a big hit commercially. He waited for a while and directed Nuvve Kavali, a remake of the Malayalam super hit "Neeram", for Ramoji Rao introducing Tarun and Richa. Almost everybody in Andhra is said to have seen this movie. Vijay Bhaskar made a simple story look so well with this adept style of handling the scenes. It is realised that Vijay Bhaskar's style of introducing the characters of the movie is simple and realistic unlike other directors who introduce the hero with a big fight or a smash hit song in the movie. He has a style wherein every character in the movie does every kind of role like a hero does comedy, emotion and so does the comedian. After Nuvve Kavali he directed Nuvvu Naaku Nachav with Venky in the lead role. The movie is supposed to be a big hit with screenplay and witty dialogues taking the center-stage again.

Although the range of success of Vijay Bhaskar appears to be increasing from movie to movie we can figure out that he has directed three movies with almost the same story line. Three characters are introduced in the movie, the girl either likes the other character or vice-versa and ultimately the hero takes her. If watched closely, it is the same in all his three movies. Venu takes laya over taking Brahmaji in Swayamvaram. Tarun does the same with Sai kiran taking Richa in Nuvve Kavali. Venky does the same taking Aarthi sidelining the other character in NNN. Let us hope that he comes with a big hit with a different story line next time.

Teja:-

Rocked tollywood with his low budget film chitram introducing many new faces to tollywood along with him. He made the film within 40 lakhs impressing Ramoji Rao of Ushakiron movies. The movie turned about to be a mega hit and made tons of profit for the producer and the industry. That made Teja, the talk of the town. However, controversies surrounded him saying that he was instrumental in displaying controversial scenes on the silver screen although the sensor board rejected them. That made him a subject of gossip in filmi circles. Fresh with the success of Chitram, he experimented with a family subject and made Family Circus. However, it turned out to be a box office dud. That did not deter him and he came out with Nuvvu Nenu. The movie is considered a hit owing to foot-tapping music and stellar screenplay.

Teja's direction has more emphasis on screenplay and dialogues than the story. His ability to catch the pulse of the youth makes his movies successful. His movies move away from the routine stuff and are made with entertainment as the central point. With a promising team like Kulashekar, Patnaik and Rasool assisting him Teja has a long way to go. Let us hope that he churns a family entertainer into a big hit next time.

Poori Jagannath:-

Introduced to tollywood by Trivikrama rao in the form of directing Badri. The movie was a run-away hit celebrating 100 days in 40 centers. Introducing Ameesha Patel and Renuka desai along with directing power-star brought him considerable name in the industy. His novel characterization and subtle establishment of the characters was widely appreciated. However, the success of the movie was attributed to Pavan than any one else for his involvement in all the aspects of the movie.

After the youth subject Badri, Poori Jagannath delivered his second movie in the form of Baachi. The movie revolves around a boy claiming the protaganist as his Dad. How the mystery unfolds and where the boy came from is what the story all about. His story telling did not click high this time and the movie turned out to be an average. After that he came with a sensible and mature love story with Ravi Teja, Tanu roy and shaheen as the main leads. The movie was "Itlu Shravani Subrahmanyam". The movie is declared as a hit. The credit went to Poori who was incidentally the storywriter of the movie. It is seen that importance is given more to the story than anything else in his movies.

With movies being made keeping "youth" as the central theme, tollywood is being rocked by new faces almost every week. In this scenario these three directors have definitely made a name for themselves with their different style of filmmaking. I guess it would not be an exaggeration to say if I say that 10 years from now we could these directors as a Raghavendra rao, as a EVV and as a Muthyala Subbaiah rocking tollywood with their hits. Idlebrain.com wishes these three talented directors "All the Best" in their future.
