Interview with Ram
Date: May 11, 2010, Hyderabad
deva katta

Energetic star Ram’s latest movie Rama Rama Krishna Krishna is all set to release on 12 May. Idlebrain.com caught up with Ram at his residence for an exclusive interview. Here are the excerpts -

What do you think has gone wrong with your last movie Ganesh?
When I had a preview for myself before the release, I realised that the length of the movie to be disturbingly lengthy. The entire second half looks gloomy except for my character. Kids and girls liked the movie. But that wasn’t enough. I was not narrated scene-by-scene script for my movies except for Jagadam and Ready. All other movies scripts were not complete before I accepted them. I was supposed to play college student in Maska movie, but it was changed later.

Tell us about Rama Rama Krishna Krishna (RRKK)?
Hero’s character has the traits of both Rama and Krishna. This is the biggest story based film among the ones I had done so far. The story has some shades of Ramayana and Mahabharata as well. RRKK is a village based subject with modern outlook. It’s a screenplay-based movie where 85% of the movie takes place in Rajahmundry and 15% in Mumbai. I play the role of an unemployed youth.

Tell us about Arjun’s character?
We initially considered somebody else, but weren’t satisfied. Arjun is new for this kind of characters and it’s an important character in RRKK. It needs an actor with hero image and Arjun suited the role well. Arjun plays the brother of heroine character played by Priya Anand.

Tell us about heroines?
This is my second film with two heroines. I loved Priya Anand’s energy and it matches with mine. She play the role of a modern girl from Mumbai. Bindu Madhavi has done traditional village girl character. She plays my maradalu in the movie. Both of them did justice to their characters.

Tell us about the director Srivas?
This is the second project of Srivas and he worked over this subject for around two and half years. RRKK is a challenging script with great characterization and complicated screenplay. He has come up with a fabulous job.

What about music?
RRKK is 200th movie of Keeravani. I am extremely impressed by the rap he has given for the title song. All songs are good and I performed well for the dancing numbers like Tugo jilla and debba kodithe.

Is Usaravelli the title of your next movie?
Yes. Usaravelli is the title of my next movie in the direction of Surender Reddy. It is a screenplay based movie that has right mix of action and entertainment (comedy).

Are you doing a project with Krishna Vamsi?
Yes. I was supposed to a film with him after Devdas. But it didn’t materialise. I am glad that I am going to do a movie will him soon. The script and the producer are not yet finalized. I am planning to do two films at a time.
